Hello. I need some help with torque calculation/estimation. I'm making a robot with 4 legs. 4kg total burden (including servos for all the leg, which is 12) Each leg is 2 feet long. 20kg/cm servos for the 4 legs doesn't seems to be enough... I'm eyeing 2 better servos: - 60kg/cm torque using 7.4v. 34 USD. Waiting for this one to ship. - 100kg/cm using 11 volt. 400 USD. Not ordered yet. What torque do I need approximately for the 4 legs to work together to move the 4kg burden on a 2 feet legs? I would like to hear you guy's opinion before ordering the 100kg/cm servo. Thabks in advance.
Can't quite figure out the math myself, however I've used these two calculators in the past for wheeled robots I've built. They may be of use to you: Society Of Robots - Arm Calculator Society Of Robots - Robot Motor Force Calculator
