It started with the latest windows 10 update. But at complete random times. My 1070ti will stop displaying anything. Turn on all it's fans to max and it will stay like that till I am forced to restart my computer. Sometimes after a restart I will get a notification that says "Display driver failed to start. Using Window's default driver". I would just hate for it to be a problem with the card because it's only a couple months old and sending it in for repairs means I will be without a computer.
The PSU is pretty old. I think it might be reaching 4 years old at this point. So it wouldn't be surprising if it was starting to fail. But it's a 600w PSU so I don't think it's power output is the problem.
Huh, that's really odd, I'm getting the exact same issue also with a 1070ti, only mine is a MSI one. Mine's a little older, I bought it in december of last year but also I bought my current PSU then. Maybe it actually has something to do with the windows update?
I guess we wait for a new windows 10 update to see if anything changes?
At least Windows 7 is still supported, till 2020
Depends how much power it's outputting on the 12V rail. What model of PSU do you have? I'd recommend reseating your GPU, it's crazy what kinds of issues can sometimes be magically solved by a reseat. Especially PCIe 16x, since the slot bears so much weight. Barring that, what about making a fresh install on another drive and booting to that for a while? There could be some kind of issue with power states.
