because giving idubbz shit about it wouldn't phase him and he'd just tell everyone to fuck off as well as his audience being the type not to care, pewdiepie has sponsors and a huge reach that includes a much younger audience than idubbz and that comes with certain expectations like not teaching them that its normal or whatever the argument is

Mostly because idubbz prefixed it with acknowledging the power behind the word and didn't use it as a flat out derogatory in the heat of the moment.
Yeah. As much as I disagree with him about it being acceptable for white people to use the word (especially the hard r varriant), he has made it perfectly clear that he does not approve of it being used as a slur. That's half the reason why he did the content cop episode on Tana Mongeau - someone who is clearly a much worse influence on her audience than idubbz has ever been.
Oh, god, everything just got so much worse in the last few hours. In case you're wondering why the video up top is deleted, its cause Etika intentionally got his channel banned by posting porn. It wasn't a hack: Sky Williams and multiple other youtubers have confirmed he's having a mental breakdown, and they've already contacted the local authorities to make sure he's safe.
Sky and another said he's found and safe.

Ugh, somehow it got even worse. So it turns out this was apparently all just a stunt to try to garner more attention. Etika never actually had a mental breakdown or was in any danger whatsoever. If this is true, and it's looking almost confirmed at this point, I just lost all the respect I had for Etika, and the same probably goes for a ton of other people. What a danm shame he chose to pull this shit. He was one of the most beloved youtube personalities, and now he's fucked everything up.
Guess I'll be following this to see how this ends now it got really interesting.
You are correct. Honestly, I don't know what the hell to believe anymore. The whole story is just bizarre. It is at the least very plausible that Etika really has mental health issues, and he's just saying it was a stunt because he doesn't want to admit he needs help. (like so many in his position do)
I think Etika had something planned but it got out of hand. I'm use to his eccentric personality in his videos but this one felt a little off, but that's just a feeling nothing concrete.
I think we'll figure out what's going on in due time

I find it INCREDIBLY hard to imagine Etika faked having a mental illness to get attention.

He's always been a bit crazy, but until now it wasn't the bad kind of crazy - just the lovable fanboy kind of crazy. He was very beloved by most of the gaming community, with no real controversies to his name. Even Resetera liked him.

It said Etika has officially checked into a mental hospital. I dunno why it was deleted. It better not be fake, and it turned out Keemstar was right all along. God, when will this saga end?
The current situation is that the reason he is at the mental care hospital is because the persona of "Etika" he kept doing for years took a huge tool on him.
Basically if this is true you can expect something similar to filthy frank if he will still make content in the future or nothing at all.
AKA: Big chance of never seeing "Etika" content again.
