"Open-pit mines 1983-2017 (lignite) Timelapse Hambach (0:38), Garzweiler, Jänschwalde, Nochten, Welzow" https://youtu.be/e_wx_LsAbwk
Their plans are to flood the mine(s) over some (a lot) years, creating a huge lake. That's still far away though
this is such a bullshit plan and the company can get fucked
Well least an good reason why Mix-Member Proportional representation has given the country's Green Party, the Alliance 90s/The Greens to becoming relevant again and rising the polls in statewide because this events like these.
This is what they replaced Nuclear Power with. Good job.
Capitalism has no respect for the past, present, or future of our Earth.
In America we blow the tops off of mountains and then "restore" them by filling them with dirt, creating a plateau, building a shopping mall on top, and saying "we created jobs"
didn't someone fall to his death in the hambach forest? i remember a news report about it a while ago
There you have it, forests kill people. They're doing us a favour.
People need to understand, the true wealth is in their community, their environment, you destroy that anx you have nothing for yourself or your children. This is the problem of uncapped capitalism that works against the people.
