Today this afternoon my second monitor, which is an LG FlatTron W2253 started having this issue where it'd display nothing but a black screen, I tried turning it off and back on, changing the input cable, disabling+re-enabling the driver, tried using the DVI input, using a different power cable, and none of that worked.

This is how it looks, is it dead or is it something I can fix?
I had an older ASUS screen that did something extremely similar. I'd turn it on, it'd display the ASUS logo, show picture for a bit (maybe around 5-6 seconds), cut to black, then repeat. Unfortunately figuring out what went wrong on your own is time costly and probably pretty dangerous, and taking it somewhere to be serviced would likely run you for just as much as a new screen entirely, so I wouldn't really bother.
If you want, you can experiment with it -- try other display cables, power outlets, whatever, but as far as actually opening it up goes, I'd say it isn't worth the risk. A 22" 1080p screen'll run you around $100 or so. Here's one:

Oh, one thing to add is that every time the screen turns black, the "usb device disconnected" sound plays right before.
