medievil's not on there? what a joke
No Ape Escape, no Crash, no Spyro, not even Gran Turismo. Dear lord, I'm surprised they even put MGS on there at this rate.
Can't forget to throw FF7 on there, though. At least Sony has never failed to recognize that PlayStation practically owes its entire continued existence to that one game.
Bold move by Sony to make controller cables that are only a couple of inches long.
That's a pretty pathetic lineup tbh. it's missing Crash, Spyro, SOTN, Tomb Raider, AND Silent Hill. I know some of those needed the analog sticks, but it's just not a PSX collection without them.
Ff7 but no ff9
Sony, you CRAVE your own death
I dunno, that's decent enough. Obviously not the best but i think that's a decent enough showcase of what the PS1 was and there are a couple of niche games on that list.
Im surprised the first Persona is in it, actually. Is it the first? Im sure it is.
Oh, looks like Japan gets a different set.

Weak shit like this is why emulators exist sony.
hey everyone check out mr no six meter long arms over here pfft loser
lmao why toshinden if you have tekken 3
Wouldn't a Raspberry Pi 3 be powerful enough to emulate the PS1? A RPi3 kit costs you 80$ which includes an SD card, a case, power cable and the RPi3 itself. Not only is it 20$ cheaper, but it would also play whatever PS1 game you throw at it.
The shitty version of Persona where they relocated it to the US, whitewashed and blackwashed some of the cast and removed the second route for no reason? Noooo thank you.
Why the fuck are we getting two puzzle games?
Who likes or cares about Mr.Driller?
To be fair, FF7 alone will probably have enough people lap it up for this whole venture to be profitable. From the Midgar demo spurring rumors of a PS3 remake that ultimately never came but had people plonking down $600 for PS3 pre-orders regardless, and then finally the announcement of the PS4 remake (that will almost certainly be moved to the PS5 at this rate, to say nothing of the episodic format) that made Sony E3 2015 "the best press conference ever" and further fueled the PS4 hysteria of the mid-2010s, Sony has never shied away from carting out FF7 to remind people "This is why you buy PlayStation." It's their fallback for whenever they start to lose the crowd.
Yeah, but Revelations: Persona is the weird localized version they did which changed a whole bunch of story details around and dummied out the alternate story route (the entry flag for that route is hard-disabled in the English release and even if you GameSharked your way in, it wasn't translated and would try to continue calling Japanese text files that were left off of the English disc, resulting in garbled text the whole route). There wouldn't be a proper English version of Persona 1 until the PSP remake.
Boo hoo, they Americanize a game and made a majority in Japan to a minority America
It's a shitty localization job that's low key racist cause it assumes that Americans can't handle anything foreign.
boy have i got bad news for you
Now I'm considering just emulating the games I already have instead of just buying three versions of this just to get everything i want.
Know what would be better than some pre-installed games? Allowing people to use their old PS1 discs with it or having some kind of virtual store
Know what would be even better than that? Adding backwards compatibility for the PS4 in the first place
These mini consoles just come off as using nostalgia bait to make easy money and Sony knows people are gonna eat this up. I don't see any reason not to emulate and by doing that you can play any game you wish with any control set up, resolution, etc.
I lost interest when the analog sticks weren't there
I lost interest I didn't even know I had when I saw the price.
I will forget this thing exists when no one can figure out how to put more roms on it.
They didn't stop doing this trash until Persona 3
Hold up. Parasite Eve is JP only?
The first game Square ever co-developed with an American studio? The one with strong American cinema influence and well-written female lead characters? The one that takes place in New York City and has you play as an NYPD officer?
So many bold decisions by Sony these days. :V
PS1 mini without a tony hawk game LOL nah
Yes, works fine. You can even up the internal render resolution for some great graphics with acceptable frame rate impact.
No DQ7 for Japan is weird as fuck thats like one of the biggest titles there, would kill for it to replace Persona that game is really bad
Revelations Persona is legitimately not a good game, it's just a painfully mediocre JRPG
I'm more or less just curious if this can be modded.
I'm immensely more interested in the JP version.
