This is exactly the type of rhetoric that a domestic terrorist who sends bombs to the media would say. Trump is so genuinely stupid that he has no idea how much weight his words carry in a situation like this.
If CNN is planning election coverage on locations, they should probably start thinking about buying some of these http://www.att-tactical.com/file-images/PRESS_MTV.jpg
Gaslight. Obstruct. Project. Fuck Trump, fuck Fox, and fuck these domestic terrorists their dogma has inspired.
I think calling him stupid isn't correct, he knows exactly what he's doing, or at least he's aware that a divided and unsafe country is his best shot at staying in power.
Holy fuck lmao more crazy assholes are going to try to copycat that prick and Trumpets tweets are going to straight up encourage them
Just imagine what the response would be if a President Bernie Sanders responded like this to left-wing terrorism. Where is the fucking accountability?
No, he is definitely stupid
Donald Trump is an enemy of the people who is encouraging acts of treason and terror.
Democrats need to officially censure Trump, no president has been censured since Andrew Jackson. When someone is censured by Congress they are compelled to stand on the floor of Congress while the Speaker reads out why they're censured and condemns them, it should be televised.
I'd very much like to have Trump declared as that "true enemy of the people". Would fit him well.
I honestly can't say I believe that Trump is savvy or Machiavellian enough to intentionally sow discord like this, because if he were that savvy he wouldn't do it such a stupidly fucking obvious and hamfisted way. He's just a narcissistic manchild incapable of taking anything seriously or being an actual leader to the point where he responds to domestic terrorism with "Fake News! Sad" because that's all he fucking has. He's like a black hole that swallows the rationality and common sense of anybody in the room with him.
I would say he - at least partly - knows what he is doing. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/trump-says-he-could-tone-rhetoric-after-mail-bomb-arrest-n925106
When the pipe bomb story broke and people were accusing it of being a false flag I made a post about being worried that Trump would pick up and dessiminate the theory, making violence against CNN or critics of Trump seem less serious. Turns out I was giving him too much benefit of the doubt. Instead of pushing the false flag theory he is just doubling down on the same rhetoric that drove those bombing attempts in the first place.
Now what would happen if one of those bombs went off and killed someone. I can only imagine Trump saying "Well if CNN hadn't been dividing the country so badly this wouldn't have happened!"
Remember that "you have to go for their families"
Look at what you made my supporters do.
they already have they just never needed to use them outside of afghanistan
It disgusts and horrifies me that people I know, including my own mother, say that "It's a shame the "bomber" was caught. It's all a hoax that the news wants us to believe." People that I'm close to are advocating or okaying domestic terrorism against others. What in the ever loving fuck is happening to us?
Just get away tbh
These are still the people you've always known, the sociopolitical climate is just more permissive of voicing these opinions now so they're dipping their toes in the water to see just how much they no longer have to hide. Our leaders have made it clear that if you just hate the shit out of brown people and queer people and women and want a tiny upper echelon of plutocrats to crush the life out of everyone who isn't them day by day because you think someday you'll be in that little club and then it'll be your turn to do the crushing well then that's just fine - speak up in fact, now's your chance, promise we'll come for you last.
He knows what he's doing.
You know, I can't help but think that this flip-flopping between "Trump is too stupid to know what he's doing" and "Trump is smart enough to know exactly, and exploit, what he's doing" can't help me think of the arguments people make in regards to antisemitism. "Jews are a weak and inferior race worthy of extermination but they also control the entire world from the shadows in a global conspiracy." You can't really have it both ways. Either the Jews are weak and inferior, or they're controlling the world in a global conspiracy. Trump can't be both too stupid to know what's doing, and smart enough to know exactly, and exploit, what he's doing. The question is, which is it? I honestly don't know. And I don't know which one terrifies me more.
Easy explanation: He's just a useful idiot being played by someone vastly smarter than him.
it doesn't take some galaxy brain to repeat dogwhistles over and over
I never claimed it did. Any idiot can parrot phrases without knowing what they're saying. That doesn't change the fact that people need to make up their mind as to whether or not Trump knows what he's doing.
Semantics are irrelevant. He's a dangerous lunatic or a dangerously oblivious lunatic. The end results are mostly the same.
trump is a very adept showman with a third grade understanding of economics, global politics, and the english language
My point is this: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107272/d4b03903-860f-49ac-868c-fd1cb529e18c/image.png We have people like Jim and Curls who are insistent that Trump is too stupid to know what he's doing. And then there's people like Rainbow and Patriot who believe he knows exactly what he's doing. It can't be both. He can't both have no idea what he's doing and know exactly what he's doing. All of that being said, as Da Big Man said, this is semantics, and at the end of the day, whether or not Trump is actively aware of the damage he's doing doesn't change the fact he's doing damage.
