I kinda liked the Japanese live action films. They weren't good by any means, but i was mildly entertained, which is more than i can say for most live action adaptations.

Considering the director, and dependent on how much room the creative staff is given, it could be good albeit. It's impossible to cover much of the anime let alone manga's story in a single film considering the serialized design.

Admittedly though, I'm not a fan of any animated to live action adaptation on the view that it demeans the medium of animation as a lesser format. Especially in the case of Attack on Titan and other cases where they are just plain gorgeous on their own. I would be in preference to an animated film that covers part of the story from star to the end of the FT arc, but that's my view.

Even if this makes a crossover between our worlds with generic US army guy shooting M4s at the Titan's its still probably be a better movie than the Japanese one.
