https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/10/29/hillary-clinton-recode-interview/1807270002/ When asked during an interview with Recode's Kara Swisher if she wants to run again, Clinton quickly answered, "No."  But she then conceded, "Well, I'd like to be president."
she is "thinking about it" fucking stoooppp

might seem a bit out of the loop here but what sort of options do the democrats have? are there any well known names right now who are aiming to be a candidate? the only one I know of is bernie
"I don't want to actually work towards it, I just want the title :^)"
Hillary, I say this with every condolence over your - frankly illegitimate - defeat in 2016: Please just give it up. It's not happening. Your reputation is radioactive. No one wants you even near politics again. For all our sakes - including your own - just retire already and stay quiet.
No, get out of all public spotlight, we don't want you or your brand of democrats.
"I just want to be known throughout history as the first female president."
in the event that she does run and she ends up the only choice, sure, ill vote for her. better than trump. but honestly i really hope she just stays away from 2020's election. dont give them more shit to say, please.
I've heard Joe Biden might run, which wouldn't be a bad choice If you ask me. No word on Bernie, but I've heard some decent things about Warren as well. I don't know enough about Hillary for a solid opinion, but from what little I do she just isn't the face we need right now.
If I lost to someone like Trump I'd jump off a fucking bridge tbh
Gah, no. No no no no no. Like it or not, fair or not, there's a huge swath of the population that's convinced Hillary is worse than Hitler. Fox News and the Republicans have been brainwashing half the country to hate her - and it's worked. Ask them to explain what's so bad about her, they'll give you nothing but blank stares and maybe mumble something about emails and Benghazi, but when it comes time to vote, they'll vote for Hitler's dug-up festering corpse if it means keeping Hillary out of the White House. And this isn't even just Republicans - I've heard this from left-leaning independents, even some registered Democrats. Hillary needs to be completely detached from the Democratic Party. Don't run again. Don't even campaign for whoever does. Don't try to link the new candidate to her - don't call whoever runs in 2020 "our generation's Hillary" or anything like that. Should it be this way? No. But you can't change the way the world is, only what it will be. And in the future, we might want to avoid running someone who's been the obvious Democrat candidate for years and years. We won in '08 because the Fox News hate machine hadn't had time to get grinding against Obama yet - but that just gave them eight more years to indoctrinate against Clinton. So whoever they're currently hating on (Kamala Harris, I think?) also needs to not run. Doesn't matter if they would be the best president or not - if they can't win, they can't do the job at all, and we desperately need to wrest control of the nation back from the regressive party.
I didn't find this in the article and her publicist seems to indicate that she has no interest in running.
Heard it from Secular Talks clip of it, the exact quote is "Not even going think about it until after", so I'll admit, not straight up admitting she's thinking about it, but I think the implication is very much there I predict she is definitely going to start thinking about it if blues sweep in
I think she should keep saying stuff like this. She's tanking the right wing aggro.
Yeah, her spokesman corrected the author of this article by saying that she wasn't going to think about supporting a 2020 candidate until after the midterms, not think about running after the midterms.
The only way I'd want Hilary as President is if some wizard appeared, waved his fancy wand around, and said "I'll get rid of Trump and his basket of deplorables, but you're stuck with Clinton." Like, I'd leap for that offer. But there's a long election and campaign process, that I don't want to sit through with her, again. So, no, not happening.
Basically she's fooling herself that if she fail then she won't feels bad so it is a win/win situation.
Her running would be the worst thing she could do. She already got her shot, we have to get someone who can rally a-lot of the American people together if we are going to stop another four years of our current idiot in charge. Who do you guys think is the best candidate for the Democrats in 2020?
I think all of you fell for the republican kool-aid if you think Hillary Clinton is actually the NEOLIBERAL HITLER. It's just become the default take that she's this horrible, corrupt, law breaking criminal through sheer propoganda network, you didn't have to necessarily watch Fox News to be absorbed by it because it's so common thought for people who barely look into her positions. I'm not sure if anyone here actually even bothered reading her platform.
Honestly, anything less than a 70-30% vote ratio in favor of democrats will be a loss in my eyes considering what the current president is like. Hillary can't make that happen, everyone hates her too much.
I wouldn’t count on it. People around here in New England have been calling her the fake Indian since George Bush was such still president.
This is the problem, that whole "indian" thing is fucking overblown, if we can't get past stupid shit like this, we will never have any real change in this nation.
Weren't the DNC primaries rigged tho
While this is true, many people want to see her gone because neoliberals just aren't exciting to many Democrats, and a lot of people know her as the one who ruined Sander's chances and got us Trump. Speaking of that, her efforts during the 2016 campaign were minimal at best. The only time I heard about Hillary's campaign was slander from the right and a couple "vote for her" commercials. It's like they saw their opponent and thought they didn't have to try anymore. There was a ton of negativity flying around her and she made no visible effort to refute or dispel anything. I mean heck there was a conspiracy flying around that she was dying and the only thing that refuted that was her being present during the debates, not dead.
I don't resent her, I resent the fact that her reputation is so divisive America ended up with Trump over her. Her running again could easily mean another 4 years of the shit we have now.
Shes unelectable and she shouldn't run, if she does then if verifies that its all about her and not the values she wants to instill in the nation. If she really cares about beating Trump then she should stay away from politics.
Pretty sure Clinton won the popular vote by over 2.5 million votes, so I'm not convinced by the everyone hates her argument, but I'm not sure running again would be the best course of action.
At the same time, you can't help but feel that the only reason she won by 2.5 million votes is because she wasn't Trump.
