I mean, it sucks they died but if you're going to do risky and/or dumb shit for selfies then tbh you kind of earned whatever comes your way for it.
Real talk, I hate that just being stupid is considered a condition to being deserving of bad things happening to you.
Its kind of sad that people forget huge life threatning dangers over selfies.
Goddamn do I hate selfies....
When you take that risk, you do so consciously. It's not like they were thrown off by some bystander. No, they decided to risk their lives for some photo for a blog.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
I never said they deserved it, I said they earned it. If you point a loaded gun at your foot and pull the trigger should anyone really be surprised when the end result is you getting shot in the foot?
It is their fault, but they made a mistake and it sucks that they died because of it.
And? It's not like they dragged someone else with them to their death.
I mean, "deserve" and "earn" have pretty similar definitions.
So the canyon killed his vibe, not a beach? What a twist.
They knew the risk. Instead of maybe taking a few steps back, distancing themselves from the edge, they just went right up to the edge. You'd have to be DENSE to not think about how that situation might go wrong. They might as well have just jumped off at that point. It's comparable to Russian Roulette - anyone who ever participates in it is asking to get shot
the Park Rangers tell you not do do this shit but people do it anyway and die
Just like rooftoppers who fell to their deaths. They knew the risks. Hell they knew their risk, they asked if its worth doing it for a photo in their post.
Dude, I don't give a shit about whether they knew the risk or whether it was their fault. I'm not going to be convinced they got what they deserved and go "hmmph no sympathy *chin up stiff upper lip*" just because they weren't being as careful as they should've been.

This was a previous post from their joint instagram.
The emojis gave me cancer
It's sad, but taking stupid risks for a selfie...
no ones saying that but you.
Okay, sorry for overreacting. It's just that I know that there were times where people on this site either outright said that or implied it while spouting out "natural selection" shit whenever these sort of threads come up.
Many, many people say exactly that, actually. It's a very common sentiment, and a dickish one.
Natural selection
Or to put it simply: Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Sucks they died but utilizing the tiniest bit of common sense would have easily prevented their deaths.
I was on a road trip in Australia recently where I saw countless times tourists going over the fence to take pictures while sitting on a cliff edge or whatever... If you ask me honestly, I wouldn't have any sympathy for them if anything untoward were to happen to them.
I honestly can't read that
Social media obsession should be considered a legit mental health issue.
fr tho, after going to the grand canyon, im surprised more people dont fall
once you get to one of the parking lots, less than 50 feet away is a huge 200-300 foot dropoff, no fences or anything whatsoever
