Our current governor blocked the bill because it was blatently attacking LGBT people for no reason, and the film industry threatened to pull out of GA if it passed.
Morally bankrupt asshole pledges to enable other morally bankrupt assholes, more at 11. In other news the sky is blue and the grass is green!
If Kemp calls this election a victory there need to be riots in the streets. He has made it clear that he is doing everything he can to undermine the democratic process and now made it clear that his motive for doing so is to deprive even more people of their rights. If he succeeds at rigging this election the time for talk is over, it's time to go Sherman on his ass.
I honestly have to wonder how long this prick would last if you tossed him out, without protection, on the streets of Atlanta
I think it's been discussed many times before, but I don't think the government should have say in who you can or can't give service.
So @Chryseus2 you still think that "LGBT people dont need special protections"?
Good. Gubment shouldn't tell me I have to serve them no good dirty negros. Those people never done no good for nobody and should go back to picking cotton.
/s obviously
For fucks sake there are people alive who remember when blacks were regularly denied service by businesses in the south before these sorts of laws came to be.
I fucking hate when people blatantly ignore history, especially history that wasn't even that long ago.
I think discrimination is a place the government deserves to be involved.
Do you think, that if any major retailer you rely on for day to day living refused to do business with you, you'd still feel this way?
And if you act like that and people take your share of the market making you go under, it's your fault.
Yes. That's a market that no one is taping into and could be turned into a profit.
How is that something to turn into a profit?
Discrimination is just a profiteering opportunity?
Would you be mad if someone used your suffering to enrich themselves?
Well, if a business refuses to serve certain customers, their close mindedness makes them lose out on money. Those customers have to go somewhere. Put up a "LGBT friendly" sign and business is booming.
You're thinking that we have the same amount of racists today that we had back in the 50s. If someone won't have your business, you just take it somewhere else. You're acting like this law passing means everyone will start refusing people and that no one will be able to tap into that market without being abusive.
Wow I guess the benevolent hand of the free market must have been asleep on the job during the 60s!
Unless there's government provisions that make that difficult to do because of discrimination from the government against lgbt positive businesses?
How the fuck can you people be this lacking in empathy, and this lacking in basic human behaviour?
Like what?
I'm just answering your question.
Your agenda is so transparent it's not even funny, especially with you rating posts like this agree:
as if we don't have a plague of actual Nazis in this country right now.
Very few people care about sexual orientation and race of their costumers. We have faceless corporations that just want to sell shit for the most people possible. You think Walmart will ban gays unless the government stops them?
And what about those in rural areas where they may have only the one store to go to? Arguments like this assume everyone lives in a city where they can simply go to the store on the next street over but that is not the case for large swathes of the US.
So I need to be able to predict future legislation in a state CURRENTLY demonstrating a desire to harm the LGBT community?
Do you realize how easily played you are? How easily manipulated you are being by the right wing who are being blatant with their desire to go after this community and scapegoat them?
The Republican GOP has made it clear that being transgender is an affront to their viewpoints, and they will act against them.
They're doing this AS WE FUCKING SPEAK And you can't even recognize this while downplaying it.
You're not answering any questions, you're just floating more bullshit down river and acting like you're smart for it
I'll hazard a bet that he'll tell you they should just move like that's a simple thing to do.
You don't. You have a very small number of people that, at best, get laughed at, at worst, get arrested.
Have you not seen american companies like Chick-Filet? Multiple large corporate entities in the southern states loudly make it known they do not support any LGBT measures or aspects of the community.
Can you stop acting like you're a fucking expert on discrimination in a country you don't live in?
One just committed the worst anti-semitic attack in American history.
Riiiiiiiiiiight....
Because Fox News acting like Charlottesville was the lefts fault, because Fox News pushing arguments like the shooting of a synagouge was because of leftist policies, and not because of overt racism displayed in the media?
The facade you're putting forth is hollow, cracked, and so fucking transparent I can see you through it.
At worst they kill people.
I know I'll never convince you, or Ragekipz of anything.
Both of you in separate instances have demonstrated a flat out desire to dismiss reality and substitute your own.
I'm not here to convince you of anything. I don't care about you. i care about people who might read the shit you have to say, and not know better than to question your hollow bullshit.
At worst murder 10+ people*
Let's not downplay what they've done.
This was literally an argument used against the Civil Rights movement, and hey look it turns out that if businesses collectively just decides to discriminate against a group, that group is fucked, because that group is probably also exceedingly unlikely to beable to open their own competing businesses due to the social conditions that go hand-in-hand with that kind of discrimination. It's almost like saying "separate but equal" but it's actually "separate but equal if you have the capital to start a business, otherwise it's just separate."
"dont worry guys just give the LGBTphobes a mile nothing will go wrong the invisible hand of the free market will save you"
