'A bit'
Yeah sometimes the situation gets the best of you and you end up blowing your child apart over a poor breakfast. Happens to everyone.
Apparently the son was trying to get clean off drugs. I imagine their relationship was probably strained for a few years, with this event being the 'final straw'.
It doesn't excuse killing whatsoever though, but at least it makes the event a little less 'random anger over burnt omelet'.
I dunno, sounds pretty reasonable to me.
I dunno, with a father this unstable I'd hazard a guess that his father probably had a fair amount to do with his getting into drugs to begin with.
Andrew, who was reportedly making an attempt to get clean from drugs, angered his father after tossing a burned omelet in the backyard. Peter argued it could make their dogs ill. "F**k the dogs, f**k you. You'll be dead in a year," Andrew told his dad, who the court heard had recently had surgery for bladder cancer. They then had a brief fight, news.au reported.
Yeah I think it goes a little bit beyond a burnt omelet, but I guess that doesn't make for a catchy title.
Not to defend the dad, but someone having to deal with the stress of their son having a history of drug abuse, letting their son live under his roof and dealing with the disrespect that he was shown despite that generosity(I assume it wasn't constrained to this one instance.) I can see how he reached his breaking point.
Unless that's just how Aussies chat casually to each other about breakfast.
No that's pretty standard Australian banter.
