In a blistering statement, Abrams suggested Kemp was callously “breaking promises” to Georgians, while a spokesman for Kemp said Abrams had been “offered multiple days, times and venues” as alternatives for their dialogue and was “ducking Georgia voters because she can’t defend her extreme, radical agenda on live television.”
The debate, which would have marked the second time Kemp and Abrams faced off on live TV, had been scheduled to air on WSB at 5 p.m. Sunday. The date and time for the forum had reportedly been determined more than six weeks ago.
“This farce about voter suppression and people being held up from being on the rolls … is absolutely not true,” Kemp said during the debate last week.
Pretty sure hes avoiding debates because he got railed when they brought up voter suppression. What a shitheel.
politicians should not be allowed to be this isolated from the people. living behind a glass wall and never having to publically defend your policies directly to people is how we get climate change deniers, racists, and peodphiles in the government

To inconvenience their opponents, buy time or get chummy with the public. An example would be the 2 year presidential term, for half a century the republicans were getting their asses kicked and badly needed a president to ride the coat tails off of so in order to not fade out of the public eye and to limit the power of the democrats they pushed for the 2 term limit which gave them more chances at the presidency.
Ah, it's fucking sad how that was not to make a President basically unremovable through voting like FDR but because of petty politics.
