“We need to stop incivility”—Incivil GOP harassers
The GOP are fucking zealots. How long until crosses are burning on Democrats' lawns?
And then gaslight the Democrats for their 'incivility'
Harassing her children during Halloween is a coward's move. It comes once a year, let them enjoy this moment.
"We'll show them what nice, sane, vote-able people we really are!" - Republicans with incel creep factor
Nonono, the Democrats are obligated to be civil or else they're somehow inexplicably jsut as bad, if not worse than, the ones who started out being uncivil at best.
Manchildren.
I think if a certain political group passes the "Lets harass the children of our opponents" Event Horizon. I think its time to push the "PANIC" button cause my God our Democracy is fucked.
And of course, criticism counts as incivility.
not that the gop will ever admit to the distinction of someone who is in power being harrassed by voters, but using paid campaign staff to harass your opponent seems like something that would normally be illegal if the fec wasn't as useless as a wet noodle
"Something something free speech 1st Amendment"
Initially I was kinda thinking "well, even though I agree McConnell et. al deserved it, how is this different from yelling at people in restaurants?".. but stalking someone in their own neighborhood and messing with people's children (throwing candy at them? wtf) is definitely a level beyond. It does make me question my stance on disrupting politicians in public though.. On one hand I definitely think people like SHS and McConnell deserve all the shit they've gotten and more, if that's the precedent then how are we supposed to tell Republicans not to harass Democrats?
Imagine if the truck actually hit one of them. Oh wait, we already have nazis running over people with their vehicles in this country, and assholes still claim both sides are just as bad.
So let me get this straight. Some campaign workers in a truck was stalking them, then randomly pulled up on them and started throwing shit at her kids? This sounds STUPIDLY illegal.
Welcome to the GOP in 2018. Unfortunately "stupidly illegal" is the norm for them now rather than the exception.
With the way the Republicans have been acting since Trump's been put into charge as President it's more of them excluding themselves from common rationality and civility. Their entire mentality has
been dominated something of corrupt governor's during Rome's decline; They tell everyone who couldn't benefit them to fuck off, reap the rewards from the common man by passing laws to fuck them
over for themselves or their friends, and more importantly remove any chance of an equal and fair election.
It pains me to say this as an outsider looking in but the democracy that was held to be a sacred and centrifuge to the Constitution of America has now been revoked. At best there are rats in the house.
At worse there is an implicit actors who're in bed with Facism and will do whatever they can to reduce the majority of people to indebted slaves. And the reality of things? It's even worse; it's both of what
i've described.
It may sound incredibly dumb and dangerous to suggest this but, there's a lot at stake for the common person; a majority of people have fallen hook line and sinker for Republican's divisive tactics. The
same people who'd sell their neighbour out for the benefit of 'feeling good' when the innocent man/woman is hauled away in chains for whatever reason and their property/items repossessed. People
need to act now, those that do believe in Democracy should stand up and be willing to fight for it. Otherwise the slow descent will be the signifier of what's happened to Rome 1600 years ago: It's
dissolution.
