Okay this is some wierd shit, i saw that W3 popped up and updated on my battle.net launcher, i saw that i had an old version already installed, and the launcher updated it, but i deleted it so i could install it again, and then, it says that i can't install it?
DID I JUST ACCIDENTALLY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL WARCRAFT 3 REMASTERED, THEN PROCEEDED TO DELETE IT??????
There went 40 euro from my bank account
I just tried to do the same thing again, now it refuses to update again... I swear to god, if it turns out that i just deleted the remaster i'm gonna fucking kill myself.
Glad you could make it, Blizzard
It isn't even out. There isn't a release date.
Yeah, but maybe it was the developer beta, it was a 12GB update, and i don't think the basegame is 12gb!
The remaster isn't even 12GB
How do you know?
System requirements on the store page
Warcraft® III
I look forward to throwing another 10 years of my life playing custom games, thank you blizzard.

Damn these models are detailed
Are you sure that's not a placeholder? Because the original is 1.2GB, and i don't think all this hires stuff is only 100mb

Okay who wants to bet they'll totally screw up the balancing for esports
The recommended says windows 10 so I don't think it's placeholder.
Never got into this franchise. Maybe it's time to give it a try.
they already are, latest warcraft 3 patches killed a bunch of maps with desync errors that the map makers (who are no longer playing) need to fix, killed host bots (which were the only way to get a decent custom game browser through sites like ENT and MakeMeHost) and rebalanced the game terribly, comgined with introducing modern day QA testing (read: none) by accidently messing up a campaign tech tree, introducing a sound bug, and killing off older game tools like the proxy tool letting you reconnect on dc to some bot hosted games.
I'm not impressed, and $40 for a 12 year old game is even less impressive.
They will definitely, but the wc3 community is open to shaking things up. Should be interesting
I do not believe that remastering old games is necessarily an ideal usage of someone's time beyond making them not an eye rape to play on modern monitors.
Some remasters benefit from tweaking outdated systems or being able to edit controls.
All of the compatibility and control related shit ultimately falls into the "not an eyerape" category broadly speaking.
I am talking about specifically the practice of remaking everything into high def which literally does not do anything because graphics are meaningless.
Years late, but this is great.
The recent updates to Warcraft 3 seem kind of redundant when this was in the making anyway, no?
Doesn't help that the Blizzard integration has been a source of major issues for me.
From what I understand it's because they want old/new to be cross compatible, so they'll both receive same updates
Additional note, if a game remaster adds a lot of actual game content such as extra campaigns or maps or new units then I COMPLETELY take my words back.
Oh hey, WC3. I remember searching for a copy and playing it simply because I was into WoW and wanted to play through the lore that led up to it.
I
uh
eventually had to start using cheats in some campaign levels because I couldn't beat them
I am not good at RTS games.
Or any strategy games, really.
Tactics, I'm good. Strategy, I'm not.
I mean, I was barely a teenager at the time, so I still was only mildly decent at games, but still.
Playing RTS games is not fun to me at all, they just make me feel anxious and retarded.
