Macron warns Europe against return to 1920s populism – POLITICO
Return to 1920s populism everywhere it seems
People say the world got better after 2008 but only the corps did. The common person just had their purchasing power and financial mobility crippled. This breeds right wing popilism
And of course it'll get worse unless we physically fight it.
Establishment peeps need to do more to serve the people imo. If people were contented with job security, future prospects and wages, they wouldn't be so easily turned to extremism like alt right and fascism.
Not sure how physically fighting something that stems from society's structural problems is going to help in the long run
I kinda get where you are coming from with this but I also feel like it's taking agency away from the people who turn to extremism. I'm not terribly confident about my future and watching the cost of living outstrip my wage is getting worrying but I'm not about to invest my hopes in dreams in someone like Trump. It's pretty clear that a lot of the far-right elements in the US and Europe don't have the answers either.
Macron’s perpetually insisting that he is the only alternative to facism plays directly into RN’s hands. He’s currently leading the battle against workers’ rights and financial security of the poor in France. His violent antisocial policies cater to the RN voter base but he still doesn’t get any. He has moved the overton window so far right that our world-renowned social security system now looks completely alien to our own economy. He is absolutely a proponent of facism.
