Vote like you are tired of comedians telling you what to vote for.
meanwhile Internet Historian (a meme based youtube channel) is telling people to not vote in the comments
I swear the people in the comments either aren't aware of the nasty shit that's happened leading up the election like the rampant voter disenfranchisement, or they know but see it as a good thing.
Or they don't want to think about it because thinking about important issues is uncomfortable.
I see the commenters are definitely not butthurt soy boys.
Honestly, I don't have any plans to vote.
why do people think saying "vote, vote vote" over and over is going to get people to vote? If some one isn't going to vote a youtuber telling them to do so definitely wont change their mind
Because there are a lot of people out there who are upset with the state of the government and want change, but don't feel the need to go out and vote. Probably because of over-confidence that things will go their way on its own or the belief that their vote doesn't matter.
We need to make Election Day a holiday with fireworks and grilling and shit like the Fourth of July.
Dunno why you got all those dumb votes. It would be stupid to plan to vote in an American election while being Australian.
All the republicans who get upset about people calling out Trump is really just... I don't know how to put it.
They cry "you're alienating half of everyone" and "you're calling people stupid" and "you're biased" and whatnot.
Oh no, someone's being biased against you? And judging you without knowing you as a person? Wow! How dare they?
Judging you simply because... you support someone who's biased against people and judges them without knowing them. What a shame.
Saying "there are two sides and you're biased!" is just a bullshit excuse to get away with being an asshole.
There's two sides to the "round earth" debate. But one side is objectively wrong.
If there were actual nuance to the parties - like you see in a lot of European countries, at least for most of the parties - sure, calling out one without calling out the others would be unfair.
But this is a situation where a guy supports tearing apart families seeking asylum, and people are like "but I just want my country to be safe from <them>! How dare you judge me!?"
the alt right has really stepped up their brigading in the past couple of weeks. It really worries me because I know that those kinds of tactics have been very effective in the past, and I don't really see the left engaging in anything resembling that kind of mass social media engineering/hacktivism strategy.
It certainly motivates me to vote blue, though.
