Even though I have a good phone, last thing I want to do is waste it away as a video game device

I have simply never ever been able to play with touch screen controls unless the game is exclusively based on tapping. Recently I started emulating old pokemon games on my phone, and even that was making me pull my hair out to the point where I invested in a phone controller.
Phones just don't have the battery, nor buttons, to play games really.
Its why I preffered the DS/PSP/phone thing. Hell, my battery burns on power save just by having a connection to the tower instead of wifi while listening to music.
Touch screen for small screen input is just objectively better,
but that's for anything that isn't a keyboard or game
The moment you have to type on a touchscreen the entire world falls apart.

Theres definitely good games on mobile that makes use of its functions and limitations, its just that the amount of shit thats on play store/app store compared to the good ones is too much and its not helping that companies like ActiBlizz, EA or Ubisoft keeps pumping out games thats made to fuck with the player until they pay up
I'll take a physical keyboard over touch screen any day. I sincerely miss the old slide phones because those keyboards made typing easier.
What was amazing with cellphones was how you could type on the go and quickly spell check what you typed and continue typing.
Like typing "Hello" would just be 44-33-555-555-666.
But you can't do that with smartphones since you muscle memory can't develop when there's no physical feedback.
