On Wednesday, President Donald Trump asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down.
Trump announced that in replacement of Sessions, Matt Whitaker would become the new acting attorney general.
However, Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano explained to Fox News host Dana Perino how Trump could be breaking the law with his new appointee.
Napolitano explained that Whitaker was not confirmed by the Senate and therefore violates the law. “Under the law, the person running the Department of Justice must have been
approved by the United States Senate for some previous position. Even on an interim post,” Napolitano said.
Napolitano continued saying that next in line for the position is Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
“[Whitaker] was not confirmed by the United States Senate for a leadership position at the Justice Department. The White House will have to work this out. Who has been confirmed
and who’s next in line? Deputy attorney general Rosenstein,” he said.
When even your lapdog thinks you're hopelessly retarded.
Fox News saying something objectively bad about Trump?
What the fuck has this week been.
Trump doesn't care about the law.
Maybe they are privy to some inside info and are cutting their losses with Trump?

Damn, when I read the results this morning I was personally bummed about the Senate results but trying to look forward to the House flipping, I no idea the day was going to be this fucking full of shit hitting the fan as a result. Now even Fox is bailing out on this disaster.
You know something is bad when Fox News is throwing their own president under the bus.
If Trump gets impeached Fox News will ditch their support for him like a snake shedding their skin.
today has been a series of events that really made up for having to eat ghost peppers for my presidential election toxx two years ago
im just pure laughing honestly
Wouldn't have predicted that even a year ago, but yeah, they seem to be sliding away.
Not likely.
Fox as a network was specifically created to act as a propaganda wing for the GOP by Roger Stone, to prevent another Nixon like impeachment.
So, no. I doubt it.
"Turns out Trump grabbing people by the pussy *wasn't* just Locker Room Talk after all! More on this breaking development at 10!"
Roger Ailes, not Stone.
Thank you
This is illegal if Sessions was fired, or if he was ordered to resign
We lost 2 Senate seats, but gained 7 Governorship and 27 House seats which grants us control of the House.
They're still a media organization that has money to make. Preventing Trump's impeachment might be a goal, but if it's failed then they're not simply just going to decide to go down in flames.
Many Republicans will still talk horridly about Nixon (and Fox News has done so over the years IIRC) because they need to disassociate themselves by the acts committed by one of their own.
Judge Napolitano has never been a Trump lapdog as far as I've seen. He's a pretty solid Libertarian. Fox has a few pundits who are not Far-right Trump associates. Shepard Smith is another one.
Ah, makes sense. When I went into this thread I was half expecting Shepard Smith but good to know there's others on there who don't suck his dick.
Fox News has been weird latley, they've called the house early for Trump, pulled his ads and are shitting on Hannity for going to his Rally.
Lol at people that were claiming just a few hours after the election that they were already convinced Trump was getting a second term. If even Fox News is already starting to bail on him, shit must be really bad. I'm legitimately starting to question if he'll even last the rest of this year.
I can't say if it's funny or sad, but it sure is a sight seeing rats flee a sinking ship.
as if trump even knew any laws to begin with
Fox New's business model is basically they have a handful of shows in a 24/7 cycle that starts with Fox and Friends in the morning (Which the President watches religiously, I understand). That's basically the conservative Today show where they talk about all the shit going on in cheery morning setting. Then it moves on to regular "news" programming where you got a host talking about whats going on today and shit like that. Shepard Smith's show is on midday and he talks about Breaking News stories (basically anything new) and he's one of the few that has the balls to talk shit about the administration. Then after that you get into the onslaught on Opinion programming. Starting with The Five and segwaying into other shit like Tucker, Hannity, Ingram, and Judge Jeanine.
In any one of these shows they may have regular guests come on and talk about whatever is going on. Napolitano is a regular throughout Fox and usually talks about legal shit since he's a judge. They got a whole range of people on the political spectrum for these rolls that they call up depending on whats going on, including a handful of liberals who have more patience than a saint. A lot of the times it'll be like "This thing happened in the White House today, here's 2 conservative heavyweights and 1 liberal nobody to discuss." Or what Fucker Carlson likes to do is go on a rant about a thing and then bring on some poor liberal bastard associated with it who is either an idiot or terrible at debates and Carlson just talks over them and makes them look like a fool. Hannity just likes to get a few conservative friends together and go on a sermon about Trump owning the libs. Same with Ingram.
So usually when these stories come on where it says "Even Fox News calls out Trumps bullshit!" It's usually one of the guest pundits or someone like Sheperd Smith or judge Napolitano. There's also a few other regulars who are critical of Trump, but yeah. The whole thing is designed like a theater performance to make liberal guests look bad.
Imagine him getting home from that mess of a press conference and turning on Fox News for a morale boost. He's going to drown himself in Diet Coke.
They know the end is coming for the President so they're shifting over to be on the side that isn't going down in flames
If Trump's demise seems imminent I'd expect maybe half of Fox to flip. Shep is pretty solid against Trump already and there are a few others who try to remain visibly impartial but dislike Trump. The last holdout will definitely be Hannity who isn't going to budge under pressure from higher ups. He's friends with Trump and has his own radio show, and makes millions a year. He doesn't need Fox News, so will hold out as long as possible. Tucker will hold out as long as he can and may jump ship and do something online or maybe if he actually has a spine might rebuke Trump (depending on the situation) but still remain pretty solidly far-right.
I think Fox, if given the choice of going down with Trump or abandoning him to stay with less-extreme Republicans in an attempt to salvage the GOP, will choose the later. Trump is good for Fox and Fox is good for Trump, but that relationship can only last so long. At some point Fox will have to choose between being the continued voice of the GOP or going down with the ship.
What will be more interesting are how the mindless supporters will react.
I'm guessing it'll either be a. "It's all lies by the jews/democrats/boogieman" or b. "I never really supported trump to begin with."
I guess after the midterms The Party is getting shit scared and trying to pull an about face and pretend like they've given a shit about the law at all these past two years
