To be fair, I could think of worse fates than not being able to meet with Trump. Also CNN can just another reporter in his stead. I know it's all about the message, but I'm not sure what the actual end goal here was/is.

Reading comments in pro-Trump spaces and the hypocrisy is fascinating. People will argue vociferously for the first amendment and freedom of speech then in the very next post they make say that CNN is the enemy of the people and reporters who ask the wrong questsions should be kicked out of the white house. It blows my mind that people can hold such diametrically opposed positions at the same time and rationalize it to themselves.
