https://theweek.com/speedreads-amp/806851/trump-falsely-claims-doesnt-even-know-acting-attorney-general-matthew-whitaker President Trump is now claiming he doesn't know his new acting attorney general despite the fact that they have met several times. Trump on Friday spoke to reporters about his temporary replacement for former Attorney General Jeff Sessions. "I don’t know Matt Whitaker," he said. Whitaker, who took over as acting attorney general on Wednesday, worked for Sessions, said Trump, but he claimed he doesn't know him other than hearing of his "excellent" reputation. This is despite the fact that Whitaker has reportedly visited Trump in the Oval Office more than a dozen times, to the point that The New York Times reports he and the president have an "easy chemistry." Still, Trump made this claim repeatedly Friday and continued to insist that he only knows about Whitaker through second-hand information, saying that he is a "very strong person, from what I hear." He also suggested that he only picked Whitaker because he has a "great reputation, and that’s what I wanted." But The Washington Post's Josh Dawsey reports that after "many" Oval Office" meetings, "one reason [Trump] picked [Whitaker] was because he liked him so much." Trump also said Friday that he and Whitaker have not spoken about Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference. Whitaker has been publicly critical of the probe, writing in a 2017 op-ed that it has gone too far, and The Washington Post reports that Whitaker's skepticism of the investigation is another reason Trump selected him.
So either he lied or he appointed a complete stranger to to be his attorney general?
Trump also said Friday that he and Whitaker have not spoken about Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference. Whitaker has been publicly critical of the probe, writing in a 2017 op-ed that it has gone too far, and The Washington Post reports that Whitaker's skepticism of the investigation is another reason Trump selected him. This is the other reason he put Whitaker in that spot, laid bare and out in the open. Literally every move the Mueller probe makes, they are required (they have a duty, to put it legally) to report it to Whitaker. Trump may as well have installed a wiretap into the Mueller investigation.
I've seen small and actually shitty companies being run better than Trump's presidency. What an abomination of a joke.
Facepunch? I don't even know that site.
And Nixon wasn't a crook.
Trump lying? nothing new. don't know why he had to do it naked tho
I don't like overusing images, but it's such a perfect representation of Trump and his administration: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/226487/2c3968ef-553f-4d14-9381-232c4fba66f4/54d.png Every goddamn time he opens his mouth.
His words are taken out of context! It just means he doesn't know Matt Whitaker in the Biblical sense! /s
Trump also said Friday that he and Whitaker have not spoken about Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference. Doesn't really matter what he says, does it? He said he didn't even know the guy when he clearly does. So why the fuck would anyone believe this
You are a rude, terrible person.
Which, if some how he isn't lying, is a million times worse. God, he can't even lie and make shit sound better.
This is a really dumb, obvious lie. But if you believe it, it just makes Trump look stupid - "oh, I just appointed this guy I've never met, only kind of heard of, to be the top law enforcement official in the country". You can't get a job flipping burgers without an in-person interview, and Trump makes such a big(ly) deal about how he hires "the best people". I feel like he's just running on instinct now - and his instinct, whenever he faces scrutiny, is to lie and try to throw someone under the bus. There's no logic to this, it's just reflex because he's done this so many fucking times.
Imagine the absolute legal chaos that must be happening behind the scenes to cause a backpeddle like this.
Well I mean, they seemingly didn't even fucking vet the guy. Otherwise they would have caught that he would have to rescue himself from the Mueller investigation, completely thwarting their entire intentions with his appointment.
Isn't there a way to verify this from the official paper trail?

I can't believe this Whitaker isn't a bigger deal.

When did Trump turn into Peterson?
Whitaker: Look at me Trump the Russia investigation is dumb plz Trump look at me. Trump: Let's get that guy! IT WOULD TAKE SOME KIND OF POLITICAL MASTERMIND TO FIND A CONFLICT OF INTEREST
wouldn't surprise me if this is due to his brain going to shit. Probably had a minor stroke from the Democrats retaking the House.
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-didnt-know-acting-ag-whitaker-was-critical-of-mueller-2018-11?utm_source=reddit.com "I did not know that. I did not know he took views on the Mueller investigation as such," Trump told host Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday," adding that when he did find out about Whitaker's views he didn't "think it had any effect." "He's right. What do you do when a person's right?" Trump said. "There is no collusion. He happened to be right. I mean, he said it. So if he said there is collusion, I'm supposed to be taking somebody that says there is? Because then I wouldn't take him for two reasons, but the number one reason is the fact that he would have been wrong."
How many days until Trump denies knowing the Mueller investigation exists?
I mean he's already said that the investigation has been finished a couple times.
So he doesn't know the guy, hasn't even been paying attention to what the fuck he's been saying on TV ever since the investigation started, so... How the fuck does the dumb-ass think this guy is qualified? /s
How long until he forgets he's even presid- oh no
