Grain of salt, but ofc it would be a prequel to HL2. Valve doesn't have the conviction nor the moxxy to just continue the story.
Sounds like Tyler is setting himself up for massive disappointment.
I for my part am not expecting any groundbreaking releases from Valve anymore. Their previous hardware ventures have failed miserably, and I have no doubt in my mind that this one will too.
The only new info in the video is that HLVR will be a prequel and the bundle. Everything else is a speculation, speculation on old info. and old info. And also new VR headset which he covered on previous video separately.
If Valve does one thing well it's doing a bad decision and sticking by it. That said the Steam Controller and Steam Link are pretty dope.
Deliberately release a prequel to take attention and hype away from hl3, so when you get arsed to make it, it doesn't suffer disappointment like duke nukem forever
smart!
Say about what you will about Source 2, the new Hammer editor's pretty nice
What hardware was a failure? Steam Machines was not even really made by them, just the software, and SteamOS is still going, maybe not strong, but slowly ahead. Now they added the Proton, and you can play most games on Linux. How is that a fail?
Valve sold over 1.5 milion Steam Controllers, and they added compability for most controllers to steam, with configurability like no other platform has, and now with API to support anything new, AND any VR controller, with fine tunning any button, and even finger gestures. How is that a fail?
They created Lighthouse system that is used by many businesses around the world for commercial and creative use in-house. They have huge range, you can add as many trackers as you want, and accuracy is the best there is with no latency perceivable. How is that a fail?
Or you don't actually mean "hardware", just that it's not HL3, and you got dissapointed with Valve because of the wait?
I don't expect anything from Valve anymore.
I don't know how anyone can expect anything from Valve esp HL related considering Epistle 3.
I understand being excited about a VR headset made by Valve (love my Steam Controller and Steam Link), but I won't get my hopes up for HLVR being something more than a techdemo
bs
You signed up to type two letters?
no I made a shitty thread about Wario Ware
please be real please be real please be real please be real
You legitimately can't do a compelling narrative in current VR so I have no idea what the fuck they're thinking. Valve are putting way too much weight into something that is ultimately an expensive and inconvenient gimmick for a vast majority of people.
I'm ready to hurt again. Please, gimme anything.
