Early Saturday, the White House announced Trump and the first lady had scuttled plans, due to bad weather, for their first stop in the weekend’s remembrance activities — a visit to the solemn Aisne Marne American Cemetery, marking the ferocious Battle of Belleau Wood.
It was not completely clear why the Trumps were unable to attend. The cemetery is 50 miles from Paris. Perhaps the president was planning to travel on Marine One, which is occasionally grounded by the Secret Service. But the sight of dignitaries arriving at other sites outside Paris, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron, led some foreign policy analysts to speculate the U.S. commander in chief just wasn’t up for it.
“It’s incredible that a president would travel to France for this significant anniversary — and then remain in his hotel room watching TV rather than pay in person his respects to the Americans who gave their lives in France for the victory gained 100 years ago tomorrow,” David Frum, who served as a speechwriter to former president George W. Bush, wrote in tweets. Trump is actually staying at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Paris.
Ben Rhodes, the deputy national security adviser under Obama, noted he helped plan Obama’s foreign travel throughout his two terms and said it was common to have a backup plan to deal with inclement weather. “There is always a rain option. Always,” he wrote in a tweet. “Trump will use the U.S. military for a pre election political stunt but sits in his hotel instead of honoring those who fought and died for America.”
It's the least he could do, 100 years after the end of the war, and this is how our President acts.
Call your congressman and demand they denounce Trump's consistent and flagrant disregard for our veterans and fallen heroes.
The House can censure the President for literally whatever they think is worthy but Republicans cannot go against the Party, and Trump is the Party. Many Republicans despise Trump but they cannot say so.
Because the man is a draft dodger with no sense of respect for those who served.
wonder how the people who have raging boners for SUPPORTIN OUR TROOPS will spin this as being good
In the mind of a narcissistic sociopath such as he, anyone who puts themselves at risk in the name of something greater than themselves is a sucker who deserves what comes to them
Obviously he believes his social standing will drop if he is seen in a area created by the livestock to honor those "foolish" enough to have wagered of themselves for a greater good. As opposed to the superior people like him who only take risks for their own benefit on someone else's dime or when someone else stands to lose.
Much like his Vietnam veterans, Trump prefers WW1 veterans who weren't captured or have died.
President Bitch plays golf in the rain. It ain't about that, it's about the fact that he's a manchild who'd rather watch TV than go to a "boring" ceremony dedicated to people he doesn't give a damn about.
Churchill's grandson: "They died with their face to the foe and that pathetic inadequate @realDonaldTrump couldn’t even defy the weather to pay his respects to The Fallen," Soames tweeted
Daaaaaamnnnn
Republican voters want to believe they're voting for a strong, christian, no nonsense, red blooded patriot. As long as people like Trump can play that part in commercials or at rallies, they won't care. They've invested way too much into the delusion to change their minds now.
This is so fucking pathetic Jesus Christ. Just use an umbrella you pussy.
Make sure NOT to share it with your wife though.

Not trump's fault, urgent security threat

My great-great grandfather served as a Doughboy in WWI, the least that President Bitch-tits could do is go pay them some respect in the rain.
Perhaps somebody told him it was raining cats and dogs and he took it literally.
Obama held speeches in the rain all the time...
Shit, I think I know why he didn't go, it would have ruined his fucking combover not-hair and made it look worse than it naturally is
I think it's respectful of him to not go there to be honest, he'd be desecrating the grounds with his presence alone.

Just a reminder that an entire capital city was locked up and all circulation blocked to host the celebration of the armistice, and he couldn't even take a ride to the american cemetary to pay respect to the fallen. Pathetic.

That burn should keep Donald warm for the next time he stands out in the rain
Trump's such a little bitch, he's the fucking definition of all talk and no action, or as I've liked to say after hearing it in New Vegas, "He's all Hat and no Cattle."
This was last year, by the way.
There's no bigger threat to Trump's security than rain.
I imagine an alternate time-line where Trump went would go something like this, at this rate:
