This is so wrong on so many levels. We can't just threaten a country's innocent people for our own political purposes.

To explain Iran to a coworker who thought this might force them to elect a friendlier president. the current president of iran is basically the obama of iran. This will only disillusion the youth that got him elected as a moderate and will allow another ackmadinijahad (pardon the spelling) in power who will absolutely complete their nuclear program and will absolutely never come to the table
Isn't listening to the US what Trump shat all over shortly after getting into office? Cause after Trump having tanked our credibility with them, I don't see how they'd possibly take Pompeo seriously.
moreover we're the only one telling them they need to renegotiate the deal, everybody else is OK with it. Makes negotiating really hard when all you have is unilateral pressure
