Do you think this is going to cause major changes within the hauling industry? Would be interesting to see how much these cost compared to other models of trucks / HGVs
I'm fucking excited. We're all losing our jobs anyway at some point- but hey we can atleast not at all mitigate the damage we're doing to our environment while we're doing it!
Every time I get in my car I wish more and more that it was electric, or atleast hybrid. I hate driving it. And when I travel to the US I get more and more... uncomfortable with the sheer volume of traffic.
There may not be truck drivers in the future, but I figure these things will still be driven by hand for a while yet to be honest.
Suppose it depends how strong the trucker's unions are, very weird to think that an entire culture may extinguish in our lifetime
Watching something that large just silently "whirrrrr" it's way away from the charging station is strangely hilarious.
I like how different the vehicle looks and feels in the real life environment compared to what they make of it at the show.
As much as I love the big long-nosed American 18-wheelers with airhorns and massive engines, I would still choose to have them become a rarity on the roads rather than let all the gases emit from their exhaust. Which multiplied by the amount of them on the road destroy our atmosphere. Plus the buses and diesel tractors and all the armor in war zones.
If you think that is not loud enough, just email musk, and ask him to put one of these in:

There is absolutely no way that truck driving is ever going to go extinct.
Just take a look at the other major freight industry, trains.
holy fuck did i just watch a spaceship from the future start up, that was amazing.
Well it will be a hell of a lot cheaper to run. The fuel cost on my truck is roughly 70k a year, not to mention the cost of maintenance and oil changes. I’m thinking about ordering one myself when they become mass market, assuming charging stations are at most major truck stops.
That's crazy! The fact that fuel costs so much and that we have an actual trucker on the forums. Kinda cool
