Insects are such an integral part of life, as pollinators and prey, that scientists say their decline could lead to “ecological Armageddon”. Little is known about the precise causes of the decline, though climate change, habitat destruction and global use of pesticides are considered probable factors.
love to see major publications using phrases like "armageddon" and "genocide" to describe imminent conditions
I want to see rich people bereaved and then executed for their crimes against the future of humanity.
"Ah yes my grandson, bugs were these little creatures that roamed the ground. No they only exist in museums of ecological history now"
Ew why does the embedded article shows a porn picture ?
I've already heard people say "good riddance, bugs are gross" when talking about this. It's harder to remain optimist about our future every day.
bugs are gross and that's why they are fuckin awesome
not surprised to be honest, people treat intelligent animals like disposable objects, insects have it even worse.
Probably not the appropriate thread, but your comment made me think of this Perry Bible Fellowship comic

If there was one type of creature I didn't think would be much affected, it was bugs. I guess I was wrong.
We goofed it real bad this time. I don't even know what is gonna happen. Insects were supposed to be our last line of defense against starvation.
Hope you like eating cockroaches lmao
