https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/14/jeff-flake-vows-not-to-vote-on-judicial-nominees-until-vote-on-bill-protecting-mueller.html Flake’s vote is crucial for the nominees currently moving through the Judiciary Committee, which comprises 11 Republicans and 10 Democrats. Republicans cannot lose Flake’s vote if they want to advance those judges. Fuck Flake to be honest. If he'd done this a few months ago they would have shit themselves and passed the Mueller bill in 5 seconds. But he waited until after the midterms, when the Republicans know they have held the Senate so they can just wait until January, and there is no reason for them to give a shit. It's gonna be another ultimately empty gesture like his brief Kavanaugh delay, another case where he could have actually made a real difference but chose not to. In the end, the only real positive effect his anti-Trump pose has had is that it made him so unpalatable to Republican voters that he had to stand down and his seat was taken by a Democrat. Bye Jeff, thanks for ushering in someone who will actually do the things you talked about doing.
That's adorable. Should've done it when it would've made a difference, i.e. when Republicans hadn't expanded their majority to 52-48. Collins pulls the same shtick: She talks tough to play lipservice to her moderate brand, but when the chips are down she sides with Republicans every time, even if by doing so she contradicts her previous positions. tl;dr more "deeply concerned" political theater bullshit.
No he won't, he'll find some excuse once the vote is on the line. He's a fucking joke and I'm glad his seat went to a democrat.
Flake believes in the conservative positions of the Trump administration but objects to how bad Trump is making the GOP look.
