What began as a feel-good story eventually turned into a criminal investigation after Bobbitt, a 35-year-old vet, accused McClure and D’Amico of spending the more than $400,000 they raised for him on GoFundMe on lavish vacations and a new BMW.
Bobbitt claimed he was homeless again after the couple took control of the money. His attorneys filed a civil suit on his behalf, leading to court hearings and a police search on the couple’s home.
The couple got out of custody with future court dates, but the homeless man is in jail and obviously can't afford proper legal advice. He's still the victim here; they used him to get rich. Would you turn down a couple offering you a GoFundMe if you were poor, and would finding out that they made up a detail about a good samaritan act convince you to stop them from pursuing the campaign that might get you off the streets?
This is why I don't donate shit unless I actually know the person.
Wow, the couple look punchable beyond fuck lmao
