We need to do everything possible to avoid government shutdowns becoming an accepted and normalized part of the political process. It's very plainly anti-democratic. And that means not supporting government shutdowns when they're about an issue you care about, either.

Government shutdowns are yet another retarded feature of presidential systems of government. In parliamentary ones the government apparently dissolves and a new election is held if there's no budget reached.

Once again: if there is a shutdown he basically has to stay at the White House and work towards a solution. Back in January he made the decision that resulted in a shutdown and learned that the hard way. It is believed he made the decision because he thought "shutdown = vacation". If he is willing to initiate another shutdown he either plans on leaving anyway, what with how he already has done illegal things in office or he finished a bobbing head dummy to take his place until it's resolved.
