https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-46247339 My bus to FP UK South meetup was meant to go across the bridge, so I had to get out and walk and was about 20 minutes late. This is the real human cost of climate change
I can attest to this as we were walking to get a CHEEKY NANDOS and they assaulted us with their message as they walked down the street and blocked traffic
FP > Climate Change
Small brain: Protest in front of world leaders to fight climate change Galaxy brain: Beat up corrupt politicians, oil lobbyists and the army solving climate change instantly in order to arrive at a forum meetup on time
Fracking hell mate
Disgusting tbh. Typical ungrateful milleniwoes!
Sorry guys, it was me. I leaked Smufy's location to the protestors, they heard he drives a VW 😮
gamers rise up
quick everybody go buy a Hummer so the world can end before the forum does
It's strange how one's paradigm can shift after a few years. I went from being full of hope for humanity's future - the possibility of slowing climate change enough to avoid catastrophe, the possibility of colonizing other planets in our star system and the possibility of one day figuring out a way to reach other stars - to accepting that our planet will be uninhabitable for us in a couple of hundred years, and that we're going to cause our own extinction. Two hundred thousand years we've walked this planet. We've only been an industrial species since the 1800s - a couple hundred years. And here we are today, with the full weight of technology's advancement and scientific research behind us, and you have the powers running the most powerful country in the world denying that climate change exists because it's inconvenient to their short-term profits. Won't put money into space exploration either, or technology that'll make creating colonies on other planetary bodies, because it yields no immediate profits. I finally understand why we haven't seen signs of other technological civilizations out in our own galaxy. From the point a civilization becomes capable of radioastronomy to the point it destroys itself, in cosmic terms, must be so miniscule a period that there's virtually no chance of two such civilizations existing in the same galactic neighborhood at the same time. The whole Fermi paradox. We don't burn like a candle - we burn like a fuse.
I suppose it's been good while it's lasted.
If we don't try then that will definitely happen. If we all try then it might not, so we may as well give it a go.
The people responsible for this climate problem can't be pursued by the law any more. They will drag it on and cause damage while dragging it on, or they have enough money to bypass the law and cause damage anyway. It's at the point now where we need to kill these people or remove them by force to ensure our safety.
oh no, doxxing, whatever will the trillionaires do
We're going to get to the point where the assassination of the rich won't really upset the general public. I'm already at that point.
Agreed. Defeatism is probably the worst reaction to Climate Change apart from disinformation campaigns by deniers. If we keep up this attitude of "well, we're fucked lol", we're essentially guaranteeing our collapse. We need to petition government whenever we're reasonably able and get them to start paying attention, just like these people did.
god you just reminded me those weird fucking reactionary truck nuts who decided to rig their trucks to billow diesel smoke to own people worried about climate change https://www.sierraclub.org/sites/www.sierraclub.org/files/sierra/articles/big/rolling%20coal%20%20%20Google%20Search.png
that's not the worst people can do, smartass. maybe kill them? did you ever read that part?
The only way you can do something about the whole climate situation is through governments, national and international efforts. You can kill a CEO, someone else will take his place. You can't kill everybody working at a company. Besides, it's not just about dealing with the people responsible, it's about adapting and surviving the inevitable disasters and consequences. That requires co-operation on a grand level.
I seriously never understood that trend. Doesn't it also make your engine run like absolute dog-shit?
Should be a felony tbh
Everyone is in bed with these mongs. You cannot do this through government, national, and international efforts any more because they have their hands in all of that and all governments are in on it. They either bribe, threaten, or destroy the lives of those in power who would threaten their empire. You cannot do this legally any more. They've carved this path for themselves.
I can sympathize with your way of looking at it from the point of view of an american, but I don't agree with you.
It's okay if you don't agree with me. Just common ground is enough
People are murdering individuals who have been doxxed regularly, right? Especially when those individuals have the income of an entire nation. We know who the hyper elite are. It's not a mystery. Yes, I did read the part where you said we need to start killing people. I just think your point is half-baked, bad, and not rooted in reality.
