• [Feature Request] Potentially groundbreaking change to TC's for posterity

In Dark Souls, if another player kills you, it doesn't delete your account. In Rust, your Base IS your account, and forcing raiders to grief every base is bad design. The problem currently is that you are incentivized to break Tool-Cupboards for the resources, and they are so easy to break that even if they were unlocked, it's just safer to burn it and put down a door. My solution is twofold: Have code-locks only stop privilege and not access to resources, and make TC's upgrade-able to Armored Door (or more) strength for a high amount of HQM. Then, you could have a secondary option to "break in" to a TC and have it consume 24 hours of resources like breaking it would. This would mean even if you got raided and lost all of your loot, your will still keep your home, your expensive workbench, all of your electrical setup and most importantly you wont feel like the last few days of work were a complete waste. This would reduce quitting, reduce toxicity, but still allow people to grief an annoying neighbor if necessary for the cost of more explosives. Hell, then if you get raided, you can actually tell where your weak-point was and can repair and strengthen accordingly. Please give me feedback on this idea, I honestly believe this is the one thing Rust needs for the future. I love this game, big thanks to you hardworking fellows at Facepunch
Terrible idea, you're just making it more expensive. It isn't going to stop people griefing it if they want to grief it. If they were going to do anything they would make TC's non-breakable at all but even that is a stupid idea. Rust revolves around the toxicity, you can't change it.
I'm not willing to take a defeatist attitude towards the toxicity of Rust, and I'm not willing to request changes that break the core of Rust. Having a cost associated with Toxicity and griefing is a net positive in my opinion, because an efficient player will save their explosives for the next base.
TC's will probably be leaving anyway and was never meant to be a permanent part of the game and only a placeholder. With that said, you think it's bad now? Should have seen it when we didn't have TC's
What kind of crap is this ? In Rust your base is exactly that YOUR BASE if you get raided you build another one, you dont lose XP , you dont lose the abilty to make the items you already have the BP's to , you just lose a base, I have lost hundreds of bases especialy when first playing the game, I make my bases harder to raid now but that is due to the experience I have gained. If you want the TC to be secure you make a secure armoured place to have it,
