Damn, that looks pretty. Should have expected news on the 20th anniversary.
I'm so glad they're putting this amount of effort into Xen.
The fact it's a really cool setting combined with the scientists doing stuff there, it has a lot of potential to be really interesting but ended up feeling rushed af in the original.
its great that the time being used all these years has been put to making xen look truely unique rather than just stretching it out
"After 4 years of development, hopefully Xen was worth the wait"
This looks way too good. I may need to get Black Mesa at some point... There is some hl itch I've been having as of late.
Half-Life 3 is looking great
Xen always felt completely unfinished and rushed in the original and was overly barren with the main gimmick being low gravity. Very interesting to see it fleshed out into what it would have probably ended up being if Valve had more time/budget to do it.
Looks awesome! Hope it won't get delayed again.
They've really outdone themselves. I'm glad I compensated the developers by buying Black Mesa.
hat dang those abandoned tents
Wow, It's more colorful than I expected it to be.
Plus I find bizarre alien worlds more interesting than human bases/facilites so this is more up my alley.
Fuck valve. This is better than they could do these days.
with all of the new assets I hope someone is brave enough to update questionable ethics with an extensive menagerie of alien fauna and flora
Just a random idea but if someone were to remap one of these maps in goldsource with some new textures it would certainly be interesting to see what it would look like. Sort of like a "demaster"
That's an amazing concept and I'd love to see it.
A dev in the mega thread said they may have plans to go back and update older levels after Xen is out.
I replayed black mesa a few months ago and it's genuinely a good game. Half life 1 is one of those old games where it's actually still good. A lot of older games have shit controls, mechanics, etc that just make you want to not play, but hl1 and especially black mesa are so fun.
Honestly that ground-tentacle-spike-thing that impaled the Bullsquid (?) gives me major Darwin IV vibes, absolutely loving this.
Holy shit it's almost like a separate game of its own, looks fantastic.
I'm very glad that there are some human stuff there. One thing that lacked in HL1 considering that the entire 'questionable ethics' chapter. Blue Shift added a bit of that at least.
Jesus Christ this is GORGEOUS.
Holy shit. This looks absolutely gorgeous. The different ecosystems/biomes, the remains of human presence, everything. I honestly can't believe the work that went into making something so beautiful in a Source game.
With how detailed all of this is, I'm sure HD Nihilanth is going to be terrifying.
Those hits synchronized to the music 👌👌👌
Beautiful, just fantastic.
This is incredible, Gonarch's sack looks even more like a testicle now!
This is Source?!
