they're getting beaten out by the spyro remaster damn
why does this make me legitimately sad
if we apply the percentage world wide (which means this number isn't accurate), that's only 2 million copies sold on launch in comparison to the 12 million of FO4 so they probably think that's a bad sign.
Fuckin right it is. £50 is a lot of fuckin money.
I really hope this doesn't mean that a SDK won't be released due to it simply not being commercially viable.... (Spoiler: It'll totally be released but mods will be creation club only)
I've never even played Fallout (I'm sorry) but it seems like every other day I'll check Facepunch and see that there's an article about something being broken in Fallout 76, or that it's pretty crap. I shan't speculate too heavily, as, like I said, not played the games, but I have a lil' feeling that there was an expectation that people would be immediately hyped because Fallout is just one of those series that could do no wrong. Like the video articulates, having no human NPCs causes a sense of emptiness, and that's not just specific to Fallout. Unless games are designed to provide that emptiness, the related issues will be blatant, jarring and games will simply feel unfinished. NPCs make the world seem more realistic and creates an immersive environment, even if the character is something as basic as a greengrocer or a small child; getting sassed by Braith in Skyrim is half the fun.
I mean from what I've seen, since it's the same engine and literally a copy paste of fallout 4 in many aspects, the sdk from fallout 4 should work fine
We won't be seeing any huge game alterations for a while, lest you have people modding in god mode on main servers
It didn't work.
I can sort of guess why, I have a fair few friends who didn't buy it and it turns out almost all of them chose not to because of fabricated claims about the game. I'd say at least half of them cited the whole "but your traffic isn't even encrypted hackers can get me" as the reason despite that being completely false. The games by no means perfect but there was a serious miss-information campaign doing the runs before the game came out that used the same tactics as the good ol 'fake news' stuff thats around these days. Im sure once the game goes on sale/has dlc anyone that liked fallout 4 will come trickling over anyway
Retail sales are probably down since you don't even get a disk with it, just a disk-shaped piece of paper with the CD key on it.
getting sassed by Braith in Skyrim is half the fun The other half is caveing her skull in the mace of Molag Bal
Personally, I believe the main reasons Fallout 76 is selling far below expectactions are about: The public beta testing having been, more or less, a debacle, especially for an open beta so close to the game's release proper The faith and forgiveness the average consumer and fans alike have towards Bethesda having been eroded a lot as of late due to the release of Fallout 4 and The Elder's Scrolls Online The very nature of the game (as to say, a Fallout 4 expansion pack, with the original issues and bugs to match, with a co-op element not properly tested) The unfortunate release window, especially if you take Red Dead Redemption II into account (which, with all the doubts I'm having about it, it's downright groundbreaking when it comes to the open world genre, and it's going to recive an online component too) As what the Internet like to call "A New Vegas bitch", I'm not buying the game 'cause I hate its guts, but because I can already tell I won't have any kind of fun in it (that and I utterly refuse to play any online videogame period if I don't have a crowd of friends at hand whenever I want to log in, nowadays)
you bastard, I was reading this during my class break and almost burst out laughing.
