WHAT IS UNDERTALE: An indie RPG made pretty much by one guy over a span of 3 years. It features multiple styles of play based on player choice, with the main gimmick being that you don't have to actually kill anyone like you would in any normal RPG. You can just talk your way out of fights. The fights themselves are turned based ofc, but for defending against an attack, the game switches over to a style of play similar to a bullet hell type game where you have to avoid enemy attacks while controlling a tiny heart.
WHAT SETS IT APART FROM OTHER RPG's: Extreme player freedom to do and say pretty much whatever, an incredible soundtrack, great humor, well written story and characters, a shit ton of secrets and hidden jokes, and a game that can change drastically based on how you're playing: Kill everyone or spare everyone.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: You control a little kid that falls into an undergound city of monsters. You're trying to escape. That's the basic premise.
WHY SHOULD I PLAY IT: it currently has a 95 on metacritic, a 98% on steam reviews, and only costs $10. But thanks to steam refund system, you can just buy it, try the game out for like 90 minutes, then refund it if you don't like it. There's also an old and slightly unstable demo of the prologue, but the game picks up a fair bit after this area.

A: There are three ways to play. You can be a little shit and kill everyone or not.

A: As with anything that becomes popular suddenly and isn't a AAA game everyone was expecting, there's lots of people out there crying over how it's getting more attention than other, more well known games. This inevitably leads to them coming up with weird excuses for why people shouldn't play it. Just ignore them and make up your own opinions lmao.
Q: I just beat Pacifist. I'm not sure I want to do Genocide. Why should I?
A: Genocide mode is basically the dark half of the Undertale story. It has the most absolutely difficult boss fights in the game, new music, and the finale explains a LOT more of the plot. If you want a challenge and want to learn more about the story, do it. If you just want to learn about the story, watch this then. BE WARNED: Completing a genocide run will alter your game and prevent you from ever getting a happy ending again.

DELTARUNE is currently under some form of development. It may not be out for quite a while, but you can download and play the first chapter, here:

It is recommended that you play, or at least know the plot of UNDERTALE before playing the first chapter.
WHAT IS IT: DELTARUNE seems to be an evolution of UNDERTALE's game mechanics. It's not a sequel, however; in fact, DELTARUNE has been in development longer than UNDERTALE.
More on 'quite a while': While the first chapter is long for a demo (2-3 hours) it apparently represents 0% completion for the rest of the game; according to the creator (Toby Fox), it took 3 years just to develop this chapter. Toby considers it impossible to develop by himself, and wants to form a team to complete the game.
There is no guarantee of completion date, or even completion at all. Please keep this in mind as it will most likely be years before any additional news is given.
