He added: “We need protection and security ― these rulings are making our country unsafe! Very dangerous and unwise!” Trump dismissed a ruling against his administration on Tuesday because it came from an “Obama judge.”  In his first public criticism of the president, Roberts said in a statement, “We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges.”  Roberts added, one day before Thanksgiving, that an “independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for.” The president’s “Obama judge” comment came after U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar, of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, put a stop on Monday to the Trump administration’s ban on refugees seeking asylum outside official points of entry along the U.S. border. “You cannot win, when you’re us, in the 9th Circuit,” Trump said outside the White House when asked about the ruling.  The president complained that “they” file suits in the left-leaning 9th Circuit purposefully so that “we get beaten, and then we end up having to go to the Supreme Court.” In the case of the asylum ban, “they” refers to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Constitutional Rights. “This was an Obama judge. And I tell you what, it’s not going to happen like this anymore,” the president threatened Tuesday. Trump’s scorn for the nation’s judicial system isn’t new. The 9th Circuit also ruled against the Trump administration’s attempts to enact a travel ban for people from several Muslim- majority countries last year, prompting Trump to sneer at a “so-called judge” in one of the cases. Trump cited a Fox News statistic on the court in a subsequent tweet on Wednesday, saying the Supreme Court has reversed 79 percent of decisions in cases it takes from the 9th Circuit. According to PolitiFact, the Supreme Court did reverse 79 percent of 9th Circuit’s decisions between 2010 and 2015. But in that time frame, the Supreme Court reversed even more decisions in cases from two other courts, the 6th Circuit and the 11th Circuit.
Everyone saw this coming from a mile a way. It's a bit sad how predictable this man is. Trump pushes against political Person X for not cooperating with his administration Important Person Y chimes in Trump doubles down on criticism of person X while trying to discredit person y
We certainly have Trump judges, thank you Mitch Mcconnell and the Federalist Society which Roberts has whole heartedly supported his entire career and is responsible for making 4% of judges 98% of the GOP's confirmed judges
They just have the goal of never making the courts actually pull this country ahead like they did in the 60s.
I can only hope this makes Roberts bring the hammer down on any Trump-related cases that come to the Supreme Court. Roberts is normally a reserved, rational judge (though not necessarily one I agree with all the time), but insulting the dignity of the courts is his trigger issue.
It is my hope that we completely erase that bastard's legacy. Hypocritical pile of old cartilage.
you'd hope that having the president, the man responsible for 2 of the justices so openly state the court is bought for by the gop, it might make him more aware of how the rest of us see the court. Trump just broke the taboo about the justice system that might be too far.
Considering how they're openly appointing people the ABA name "not qualified" I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Trump judge picks end up having some sort of corrupt dealings and have to resign.
I can only hope that Roberts continues to execute his job properly and without bias, making decisions on cases solely related to the case itself and in no way hammering down on cases solely because of someone they're related to.
can you not
I mean I'd rather not have the most important judge in the world not decide things because the orange got to him. He shouldn't stoop to Trump's level, he should rather rule against him because the facts and laws are against him.
Can I not... ask that judges do their damn job to the best of their abilities?
It's pretty fascist to publicly attack the third branch of government vested with keeping the executive in check.
Sounds like the Judge will have a very easy time striking down the things Trump wants to do based solely on the fact that they are meritless fascist actions.
What are you on about...?
You could read the thread; might give you a clue.
I did. We've got some guy in the thread making ominous statements about how judges are biased in their judgments for Trump policies because they call him out for disregarding the judicial branches decisions and eroding their standing. But wait, "I didn't say that", you might say. No, but you certainly made the implication 3 times. Then you might say, "That isn't what I meant". Yeah, it is. You are implying that the judges criticism of Trump is a sign of bias he has of him personally. He is a judge, he is to keep the branches in check. That is his job. Roberts only told him that judges do not answer to their appointing presidents and that the independence of the courts are something that should remain sacred. If you had a clue, you wouldn't have made the remarks you did, in the tone that you did.
Why are you replying to Raidyr as if he were the one who made the post you've been arguing against this entire time? As far as I can see Raidyr's post had literally nothing to do with gman's post in the slightest.
You could try not posting like a pompous ass all the time; might make people not think you're always trying to be one. And that's coming from me so..
that may actually be the most terrifying picture of Trump i've seen so far. HE DOESN'T LOOK HUMAN.
Does he ever?

I can only hope that Geel continues to post on this forum properly and without bias, making statements in threads solely related to the OP subject itself and in no way posting suggestive, unproductive pieces solely because he likes the attention and make him feel matter somewhat, even if it was in a fairly negative way. I really hope.
Blatant contempt for the constitutional structure of our government. The separation of powers exists for a reason, and the Judicial branch does not serve the president by design. Anyone who has even a passing understanding of how the structure of the US government was designed to work by the founding fathers should understand why this is completely unacceptable coming from a sitting president. But the typical "Constitutional Republican" won't because the typical constitutional republican is a hypocrite who only uses constitutionality as a bludgeon to push against thing they don't like, and is completely content with 'their man' fighting publicly and verbally against the courts like a spoiled child.
Does trump have pink eye or whats going on with that

its hard to believe the judicial system isn't being rigged when you have justices that have never voted against republican interests, and the way the federalists society and the GOP have engaged in a quid pro quo system where the gop chooses judges exclusively from the federalists and in turn they steer massive amounts of rich donors their way.
Now he looks like a Del Toro Monster
