[Looking for developers] Let's make serious roleplay a thing again!

Hey guys,

So, recently I wanted to play Garrys Mod again, but there are a couple reasons why I / we can't.

1. The good RP servers basically died. DarkRP is not dark rp anymore.
2. SantosRP is fully gone.
3. Russians are taking over, which doesn't bother me really but only the fact that there aren't any *good* roleplay server anymore out there is hateful.

So, I was thinking, have been looking around and came to the conclusion; 
Let's revive Garry's Mod.

I want to make a gamemode alike SantosRP. 
For the ones who don't know what Santos RP is about:

It's basically real life roleplay in a very serious way. You have 2 ways to earn your money:
Crimes or Work.

There are jobs out there like package courier, EMS, Police, Firefighter, Lawyer, Mayor, but it's not just a basic F4 menu where you can choose different jobs. No. You apply for them, on the website. You go and have and have an interview with the Chief/Head of XXX. 

It's basically going like this, it's an advanced way of roleplaying. You can't just build weapons. 

You buy 'skill-books' and level up your crafting skills.
You don't buy doors, you go to an 'estate agent' (which is just a npc-shop ingame) and check if there are houses available, and every house it's price differs from the others based on it's surface. 
You can buy a car at the dealership, in different colours and sizes, but you can also hook your car up with some new stuff at the garage. You drove too messy which resulted in a flat tire? Call a tow-truck to tow your car to the nearest garage! Or just fix it yourself with a toolkit you can buy.
Those things are just an example of regular stuff you can get into, playing this gamemode.

Now I'm not the best LUA developer out there, I just know the little basics and I know how to change and do stuff in a script, but I just don't know how to completely make them from scratch.
That's why I want to reach out for LUA developers out there! There's a future in this and I know it. If you know someone who would like to contribute in this project, I would appreciate it.

If the server was ready to go, would you play it ? Let me know!

Just learn Lua and make your own stuff, don't search excuses or try to benefit from the work of others.

Scripts have nothing to do with 'serious RP', it's 100% all in the mentality of the people acting things out

You're better off finding people that want to genuinely flesh out stories and interactions effectively. All these ideas do is give something for dumb kids to exploit and game. This has always been why gmod is shit for RP.

Because you didnt know how to dev from scratch.

Did you think about it why you don't know how to develop from scratch ???

I going to answer you with all the options :

You didnt try to develop from scratch
You need to learn that no one here going to help you how to developing from scratct because this forum meant to help to beginner developers with errors or bugs that they have in scripts.
The people in this forum are not going to help you to build a big server forgot from this.
I am telling you if you think that Garry's Mod "going to die" go to learn lua or pay to developer to build for you a "good server".

So I hope you take it to your attention and go to make with your self something.Because here you will not find anybody that going to helping you with this "Project".

Did you just really think you could by writing few lines of text get developers to work for free in your shitty roleplay gamemode?

I mean seriously, someone comes and says "Yeah, it's true", what happens after that, you don't explain about what's your idea about it, if it's going to be a public gamemode (i bet you'll own it and take donations from it), if you're going to host...Nothing at all

If you have a good idea...Even if it's the best, you have to go with the best option, hire people to work for you, either at least be useful or pretend to be important so people can use you as you expect to use people

Idk, that sounds good, except that gmod never was dead and it nearly always has good servers. If you are really obsessed with that idea - then nothing can stop you from realizing it. Aaand you don't actually need anyone :P You won't succeed anyway if you can't 'build from scratch', though you can learn how to. GL.

I got exactly that system.

Well there are some RP server out there that are quiet OK but none of these really were perfect in my eyes, that's why I created one on my own.

Try that aswell, if you got freetime then try to learn glua or if you don't try finding someone that wants to reach the same goal as you do.

It's important that you do something, even if it's "just" paying the bills or doing advertisement or the homepage..
