Depends what model you have, plenty of guides out there. Most of them are a simple soldering job.

Try find a guide that describes all three of JTAG/RGH/R-JTAG because it'll help you identify your board.

Hell yeah, I mean it's not ideal but it's free (well $5 because of Indiana Taxes) and it can play RDR1.

They’re only selling Slims, and depending on hardware revision (Trinity or Corona) and firmware version (probably the newest one, they’ve patched out RGH) you may either have a JTAGable console or an unmoddable one.

This version never disappointed me. After I was done playing Reach I dropped console gaming outright, but do recall the S being an overall pleasant experience.
