This was going to be a big shiny OP with nearly everything the last thread's OP had and more. but the thread failed to post and I don't have the patience to spend three hours remaking it right now. So instead I'll just post the words TOTAL WAR in big capital letters and be done with it until tomorrow. TOTAL WAR https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/c20fd383-8e4c-4331-bb31-057f0e115221/image.png Total War Shogun (2000) Total War Medieval (2001) Total War Rome (2004) Total War Medieval II (2006) Total War Empire (2009) Total War Napoleon (2010) Total War Shogun II (2011) Total War Rome II (2013) Total War Attila (2015) Total War Warhammer (2016) Total War Warhammer II (2017) Thrones of Britannia a Total War Saga (2018) UPCOMING GAMES Total War Three Kingdoms (2019) Total War Warhammer III (TBA) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/e36d67f2-cba7-438e-a9d6-ec2fb2b8be53/image.png https://youtu.be/qa-Sp1fwHmA They're expanding on Diplomacy in Three Kingdoms. To take the words from the Dev Blog: "Diplomacy is a biggie, and marks the single most significant redesign of the system in Total War’s history. It’s the subject of our first THREE KINGDOMS campaign walkthrough video"
This thread seems dead but the only real place to post it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cg2nSAfeUY Literally, fucking who? Total Assembly scraping the bottom of the barrel for footnote characters.
The fact that they actually posted a link to Kongming.net on their site amuses me. A female bandit in Dongping for a short spell in 210. Yeah, that's all she had. But I mean, not like most Warlords even have that much remembered about them. The main three, plus folks like Yuan Shao and Lu Bu.
If the rest of the roster of characters is well appointed then why get bent out of shape if there a few extras? What's your problem here?
This is her entry in "A Biographical Dictionary of Later Han to the Three Kingdoms", which they referenced in their blog post: https://i.imgur.com/poCd4rf.png You are without a doubt the worst bandit I’ve ever heard of. But you have heard of me. Also, there are definitely more than 11 major warlords at the time the Three Kingdoms begins: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8e/End_of_Han_Dynasty_Warlords.png
This mean we can technically talk about Warhammer total war here? I'm thoroughly enjoying the game minus some optimization for ultra size units as the game feels like it should play great on.
I think its a great move. As someone who knows virtually nothing about Chinese history, I don't know anything about any of the various warlords and what makes them interesting or not, so none of them strike me as particularly interesting. Same problem I had playing the Sengoku period in Shogun 2 - I didn't care for any of the leaders or characters or clans involved, and got bored of it after a few hours. The mechanics were so similar for all them that the gameplay seemed bland. So for me, the idea of playing a bandit/rebel group led by a fierce woman with a mechanic that makes you virtually anathema to everyone sounds great to me. I've always liked playing as the underdog. Fact of the matter is she is based on a historical person. Half the fun of Total War is exploring historical "what if" moments.
After like five years of playing MOS for Third Age, I'm finally going to check out Divide and Conquer. Anyone who's tried it, recommendations for a first start? I've heard it's a tough campaign
If you own Medieval 2, Napoleon, or Empire, you just got upgraded to the definitive editions. All expansions/DLCs
and they reordered the names on steam to have TOTAL WAR first. angery reacts only.
https://clips.twitch.tv/TawdryObeseMousePanicVis This makes me want to play a Middenland campaign with Todbringer. ULRIC's WILL!
What the actual fuck, I was doing an Ork campaign in TW2 with my friend and my Waaaghs seceded from me, now they block my armies from moving, intercept them when I try to underway and attack me on their turn.

FLASHBACK TO JANUARY! https://www.totalwar.com/blog/what-the-teams-are-working-on-january-2019 "Fantasy New Content Team – WARHAMMER II" "It’s going to be a quiet few months from us in the Fantasy New Content Team while we scheme and plot beneath the surface. We vow to resurface soon, and when we do expect some cold-blooded and explosive content… but of course that’s after the release of the highly anticipated THREE KINGDOMS from our comrades in the Historical Team!" Skaven and Lizard Expansion was planned for "after three kingdoms" Okay, back to current day Three Kingdoms has been delayed. Pushes release back until after Skaven vs Lizard DLC Will this affect/delay the upcoming WARHAMMER II DLC? No, this will not have an effect on or delay the upcoming WARHAMMER II DLC, but this does mean that the WARHAMMER II DLC will now arrive before the release of THREE KINGDOMS.

I'm interested, there's an update coming alongside it that lets Skaven do what they should've done all along, build cities under enemies own ones.
I've been waiting for this update for so long, both the Skaven and Lizardmen rosters felt quite lacking before. Ikit Claw looks amazing. Sucks that there's no Stormfiends though, would've liked to see those as a more powerful version of Rat Ogres.
The map appears to be getting some notable changes with the coming update. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/6d516ebc-f6aa-4632-ad23-62750e15fc7a/image.png A juxtapose with the current and this new map https://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/juxtapose/latest/embed/index.html?uid=85fc4b3e-5c6b-11e9-8106-0edaf8f81e27 Talabecland is getting two new settlements. bringing it from a massive empty two-settlement province to a four-settlement province rivalling Reikland. Ostermark is getting one new settlement to their south (the new region is directly on top of Mordheim) The province Massif Orcal (mountain region in middle of Bretonnia, present on the Season of Revelation map) is being added Massif Orcal Albion is now labelled on the map. New Province added south of Araby "Western Jungles" which is where TiqTaq'to will start.
would definitely be cool if they did something special for mordheim. they have the landmark system already for a minimum effort attempt. unrelatedly, lately have been wishing the campaign map was less about universal domination and more in keeping with eternal struggle of the setting. kind of fucky how fast some entire races are crippled from the get-go and how quickly others instantly dominate. warhammer was never about the Empire taking Lustria or Ulthuan being destroyed off-camera before you get there. wish things were just a little more player-centric. hard to explain.
Race War Now? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/8a72ea14-a724-4700-9af6-0a776f261255/image.png Is that a Start Location viewer on the campaign start screen I see? (See upper left of the below image) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/936ac451-da65-4b24-b664-eca3186938e6/image.png
I'm more hyped for the changes alongside this DLC than the DLC itself, and it still looks awesome. Gas the rats, race war now!

Seems like a very solid update tbh, looking forward to it.
Folks are having lots of fun with the new expansion. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/926/35642a82-45cc-44f7-b69a-b9a5077f4e33/image.png
Oh my god the Skaven nuke is insane Attacked Skavenblight with my early Carcassone army in Mortal Empires pretty confident that I'd be able to win, they immediately dropped the nuke on my peasant bowmen corp and wiped out all 6 units in one click

I had no idea you could actually fire nukes with that DLC? Welp i know what im buying when i finish my lizardman campaign.
If you buy it before finishing that one you also get more Lizardmen units so if you're planning on getting it, you might as well fo for it straight away.
