the videos might be a bit too optimistic but this is kind of a neat little microhydro system that seems really straight forward to build in a lot of places that might still use even waterwheels
The propeller for generating power seems rather inefficent design wise. But yeah, this would be a pretty decent idea for dealing with hydropower.
seems to work given the low head in the system and the lack of pressure differential. Plus it looks easy to fabricate in lower skilled areas.

Better than setting fire to oil. My understanding is that burning fossil-fuels still just uses a basic turbine design. I mean, they're used on planes and boats, so it seems like it's pretty effective?
