https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/bill-shines-fox-news-severance-package-revealed-1163664 Bill Shine received an $8.4 million severance package upon leaving his post as co-president of Fox News Channel in May 2017, according to a financial disclosure form he filed upon entering Donald Trump's White House as deputy chief of staff for communications. The document was released to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, a day after Thanksgiving. Shine, who officially began working in the White House on July 5, will also receive a bonus and options of about $3.5 million from 21st Century Fox both this year and next year. That means that Shine will be paid simultaneously by both the White House and the parent company of Fox News, a network that has had close ties to the Trump administration. The severance agreement expires on May 1, 2019. Shine signed his financial disclosure form on Oct. 9, after receiving a 68-day extension. According to a background briefing given at the White House in the spring of 2017, new hires have 30 days to complete the financial disclosure form, though they're entitled to two 45-day extensions. Shine, who joined Fox News in 1996, received a $1,460,000 salary from the company, according to the form. According to the form, Shine has stock in the following companies: Amazon, Apple, Comcast, Google, Discovery, Disney, Facebook, Microsoft and Netflix. Shine has no "liabilities," according to the form. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did not respond when asked in October why Shine's form had not been filed. In the March 2017 briefing, a "senior administration official" had told reporters that "very few" White House employees had requested extensions.
It's really cool how it's basically not government-sanctioned media even though the president is in close ties with stone/murdoch/hannity among others. No it's not official if it is the only network that gets broadcasted in the white house and policies are discussed with their news correspondents. Let's ignore all those thugs in dresses too, just remember they aren't wearing specifically colored shirts. prism, patriot act, various int. cia/fbi ops, drone strikes, little to no coverage of major civic actions despite many of them ongoing, terrorists get labeled as "extremists", not killers, where's all that alt-right jail time? Something's really fishy, idk what tho. I better work my 9/5 at minimum wage and still not be able to make rent
I want to see how many people in this WH have not recieved extensions or ethics wavers, its got to be like the coffee guy or something.
Considering how many Fox News goons have gotten into our federal government under Trump's rule, I would no longer consider them a member of the free press. They're an arm of the GOP, plain and simple, and when we regain control, I thoroughly hope we come down hard on News Corp. itself. They do not deserve the protections that we afford CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, or any other major news entities that monkey calls "fake news". They're his lackies, plain and simple, and for him to call them the only "real" major news outlet is akin to Orwellian, state-sponsored propaganda. I appreciate that Obama tried to play diplomat and have his administration treat them with the same respect as they did any other news outlet, but that ultimately solves nothing. We need to stamp Fox News off the face of the earth.
