I'm aware of BoS and the atrocity that it is. There's alot wrong with FO4 and NV is obviously the peak of the 3D Fallout games, but I still think that FO4 has merits in both gameplay and narrative for the first half of the main story (the mystery of the Institute, Nick Valentine, Diamond City in general, etc). The later half is garbage because you're funneled into "lol just kill a group, you have no real power to call the shots you're just an errand boy". Unlike NV were you could do all sorts of democracy, truces, faction kill and actually be the guy who calls the shots.

You know, despite all the problems with Bethesda's latest Fallout, I can't be mad at Todd. Dude seems genuinely excited about his work and the games he helps create. Problem is Bethesda doesn't seem to realize that relying on modders and good will from previous games will only carry you so far. They should've paid attention after Fallout 4 and actually used the feedback they got. They also need a new engine, it's obvious that even with upgrades it won't be enough at this point. They also need better writers as well.

People were too forgiving with Fallout 4. The removal of skill points and traits put an eternal sour taste in my mouth. It's insulting as a longtime player of the series to be treated like an idiot like Fallout 4 did.

Fallout 4 achieved one thing: making Fallout 3 look not as bad as it does compared to New Vegas.

DUde the moment I saw in the FO4 previews that the stats/traits and PnP system was removed I knew we were in for a wild ride. I was not expecting that wild ride to lead to fucking Fallout 76.

I felt like playing Fallout again and was seriously thinking about picking up the Fallout 3 GOTY edition but from what I've read it's a total pain in the ass to get working on Windows 10. I might just slip and buy FO4.

Buy FO3 along with New Vegas and use Tale of Two Wastelands

It's 10 USD on GoG right now and reviews are saying it works just fine on Windows 10.

That's probably because GoG got it to work whereas the steam version is the vanilla one that still requires GFWL or did.
