"I’m not one of those sons of multimillionaires whose parents told them they were going to become president of the United States," Sanders told New York Magazine. "I don’t wake up in the morning with any burning desire that I have to be president." "If there’s somebody else who appears who can, for whatever reason, do a better job than me, I’ll work my ass off to elect him or her," he added. "If it turns out that I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump, then I will probably run.”
Best possible statement: ""If there’s somebody else who appears who can, for whatever reason, do a better job than me, I’ll work my ass off to elect him or her," he added. "If it turns out that I am the best candidate to beat Donald Trump, then I will probably run.”" God damnit America. 2016 could have been Bernie.
Do it. I don't give a shit about ages, Warren has shown she'll allow Trump's dumb shit to get underneath her skin. Biden, as much as he'd put everything back in place, is just another neoliberal. God dammit dude, you're the only one with the appeal of both sides going for him.
His age doesn't matter; that's why you vote based on who he picks as his VP too.
Please for the love of god do not decline in health in the next 2 years. PLEASE.
How just wait if Bernie is officially running as Democrat until more negative press and Democratic loyalists are going attack him all over again.
Good, this time we'll be ready for the bastards.
Please, no more geriatrics in the Oval Office. Eventually some snake from one of the national parties will be slipped into the VP position and we'll wind up with a totally different executive and set of policies than was voted for.
The President tends to get to choose who's VP.
Everyone Else "You are"
It is naive to think this decision is not made without influence from any other concentrations of political power.
ya go look up how much of a decision it was for bush, mccain, romney, and trump and to some extent obama as well because a southern boy went a long way to balance some deep seated fears about him.
Bernie is the most serious candidate about dealing with climate change. He called it a "World War 2 level threat" which is entirely accurate and how it should be looked at.
You're so transparently bad at this. Also for collusion and influence as you put it, Sanders has alreay stated his top choice is Gabbard and he's not even running yet, so maybe try putting some work in there next time.
Where did he say that? Gabbard is a pretty big warhawk and Sanders is pretty non interventionist.
I'm hoping for a Sanders/O'Rourke ticket, myself. An O'Rourke/Cortez ticket wouldn't be bad either in my mind - though I think it's still a bit 'too soon' for Cortez; she needs a bit more brand-building time I'd think.
Please expand on what "this" is.
She can't be VP, they have the same requirements to be able to run as the President.
Oh, right, I completely forgot she was 29; she'd be 31 potentially by the time the next Presidential elections come around and the minimum age requirement is 35. Good call.
I can understand younger but the dude's pretty dang charismatic. I mean, just look at the CHA debuff his hair's giving him versus his crowd turnouts and his base's enthusiasm.
Inb4 Trump wins 2020 and Cortez wins in 2024
Trump has a decent chance of getting another win in 2020. American public is just that dumb.
http://www.impactlab.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/futurecity.bmp this could have been the world we live in today if Bernie won in 2016. If Gore won in 2000, we would be seeding stargates on other worlds
It can't be overstated how much of a massive fluke Trump winning was. He won four crucial electoral states by less then 100 thousand votes each time.
One year, one MONTH of Sanders would be better than our last <pick a number> presidents combined. I hope he runs, I'll be out knockin' on fuckin' doors all day long.
You're right, we need a kid president for a change
Do you believe in the meme that Delaware is southern?
Depressingly, I doubt he'd have gotten a single point of policy instituted by this point in his Presidency. Look what the Republicans did to Obama. Still, Bernie instituting nothing is leagues better than Trump instituting anything.
Honestly at this point I'd settle for him just rolling back everything Trump has (un)done.
He would have been able to make 2 SC appointments unless the Republicans felt the need to try and delay both of those until 2020. In all likelihood we'd at least have two new moderates on the bench instead of the steaming piles of shit Trump has put there.
