JC3 had such trash performance, I don't even know if I can trust the video
but if they pull off this performance that'll at be a HUGE different, a real 180.
Does anyone want this game? I know the last one was received pretty well but this doesn’t look like it’ll separate itself much from 3.
Not sure. He says "Genuine evolution of the series" and honestly, I'm not feeling the enthusiasm. I guess it's cool that they managed to crank up the amount of active physics objects with decent performance, but personally that wasn't my main issue with JC3 to begin with. The overhaul they made in that game regarding player controls, particle effects and even the music was great, but the level design left a ton to be desired, and it doesn't seem like it's the primary focus here either.
This series is stuck with that Ubisoft open world rut where the locations might look different but the gameplay is very repetitive with nothing but a bunch of boxes that need to be ticked by blowing the same shit up before a place is rendered "complete". It gets tedious really fast and it doesn't offer that same sort of "exploration" element that many other open world games do. And that includes Bethesda titles.
Of course the game isn't out yet, so that might still change, but so far their marketing didn't do a very good job at proving my thoughts about it wrong.
Good to hear. I'm replaying a bit of 3 in anticipation for 4, and while it runs better than I remember it running at launch it'll still do weird things sometimes. Graphical glitches or big fps drops for no real reason. Hope they pull off what they're promising/showing.
