if only we banished Trump for draft dodging for that foot thing
I don't think I've ever seen his family run.
I mean, looking past who is in question, that's a fucking terrible punishment for not doing mandatory military service.
"Don't want to pick up a gun and put on a uniform? Get the FUCK OUT. NOW"
I kow trump gets shit for being a draft dodger but nobody mentions which war he dodged from.
I have no issues with him dodging the Vietnam war, the thing was a shitshow of American force that only served as a meat grinder. I get that it's indicative of his character to dodge the war, but regardless of him as a person, even I would've tried dodging that fucking mess of a war.
Read the article.
In 2018, yeah I can see your point. In the late 1800's? It was a pretty reasonable expectation. Honestly in 2018 we should have alternatives to military service with public services at least though, and tbh I don't see too huge of an issue with forcing people to either be on track to a degree in a technical college or regular university, or do a public service for a few years. Similar to the "soverign citizen" movement and not understanding where roads come from, if you want the benefits of living in a country you should do a fair part to uphold and better that country.
I think complete forced military service is a far cry from fair of course, but if there's enough alternatives the issue is moot.
If you work and pay taxes you’re pulling your weight.
I wouldn't disagree with that either, trying to raise the proverbial satan's avocado in a reasonable fashion friend.
yeah but i think its more about how he shit talks veterans of the vietnam war who actually went to fight.
Well, that is way more understandable in context. Basically moved out of the country and forgot to settle affairs and it leading to biting him in the ass later on. Still seems much to have a full on decree of exile from your homeland, but I guess different times.
If you're a conscientious objector, I believe you can get assigned to non-combat duties. I could be wrong about that though.
didn't they change the name Dumph to trump?
Surprised this article didn't blow up before now considering it's two years old.
woops
It's 19th century, pretty lame compared to other things
What people fail to take into account is the spirit of the time period
I don't mind draft-dodgers who genuinely view it as immoral. However, a draft-dodger who is also a war monger? Hypocricy is way worse than draft-dodging. Especially when the draft-dodger in question is the commander of our armed forces.
He's a draft-doging, war mongering, veteran basher, in fact.
Draft dodging -- in my opinion -- is in no way a bad thing.
I don't believe the draft is justifiable in any way under any circumstances, so dodging it isn't something I'm willing to criticize.
However, you don't get to dodge the draft and then act like you're some big tough military man. He's not. He's just a joke. Everyone knows it.
Makes sense from a soldier hating point of view
"fuck those retards, I hope they go die in the desert for nothing"
Drumpf
