I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALA NO I CAN'T LALALA
Reporters should have been doing this from the very beginning.
Can we get the press pool to start asking really mean questions, it might be the only way to get to him and make his dumb ass constituency think twice (maybe probably not) "President Tiny Dick and I have to tell everyone in a Presidential Primary it's not, what are your thoughts on the situation in Syria currently?" "President Insecure like a 12 year old girl on twitter, what are you going to do for auto workers who may lose there jobs because of your administrations tariffs?" "President Conman Don, why are you such a lying evil minded thinly veiled racist toad of a person that it takes you 3 days to denounce Nazi's, and even then you fuck that up?"
The weird refusal to just straight up call what he says as lies is SO bizarre
It isn't so bizarre when you consider that: (1) Trump loves to sue people (2) stating that 'he lied' is something that can be sued over (3) proving that he lied rather than 'misremembered', 'didn't know', 'was mistaken', et cetera is very difficult because he has to (a) have known the truth and (b) decided to lie anyway. Mostly they've been covering their ass this whole time from being sued for libel from the President as proving that he lied is a costly exercise.
it's kind of hilarious how he completely shuts down and just runs away when he's confronted like that
He's a privileged baby who's never had to compromise with people to get what he wants. He believes he deserves everything he wants unconditionally, he's entitled to it all by some cosmic force of selfish gratification. So when he has someone actually stand up to him, he has no idea what to do. He's never actually had it difficult at all, because he surrounds himself with sycophants who tell him everything's great and he's great. But now he's not a cushy pussy-grabbing CEO, he's the President and answerable to the American people (at least theoretically).
You'd also have to show that the reporter themselves knew he didn't lie etc. etc. If I say something incorrect and someone says "you lied" I can't sue them just because I was incorrect, not lying. I'd have to demonstrate that they knew that I wasn't intentionally being deceitful.
No. Journalists need to be dry as a bone.
I mean let's not forget how he tried to fire John Kelly and John basically said "No I'm not" and Trump backed down both times. The second time Trump just said "I think you need to leave" instead of his protrayed tough guy "You're fired!" and John just ignored him. The dude had everything given to him on a silver platter and he cannot function any other way
Haven't experts been saying this is the only way to cover Trump, that doesn't lead to his toxic ideas spreading, from day one? Functionally, that treating his ideas like they have any validity... gives them validity. And taking the time and attention to disprove them properly just signal boosts them, on top of that, he can spout bullshit way faster than it takes to disprove it.
