Good, it's a start.
I would say it's not too late to start regulating things, but at this juncture things are looking to pick up in pace as we know it. Beyond safeguarding the typical American citizen, now children are involved in the argument. Which in turn will hasten things along nicely. The ESRB could've fixed this by having a proper descriptor for loot boxes beyond the broad " In Game Purchases " descriptor, and having proper internal regulation to ensure things didn't get out of control; But here we are, the final stretch. Hope today was worth it..

That literally refers to the actions of the players itself, my dude
Investigate Artifact.
Well I hope all the wallets fucked made was worth it since AAA publishers would soon have to break the law to keep their gambling machine rolling or copy whatever is popular
The ESRB's job is to cover the asses of the videogame industry to prevent government intervention. Not protect or inform consumers. I mean you are right. I just want it to be clear who they work for.
Lootboxes are a greatly undesirable aspect of the modern videogame world and their utilization for effortless money generation should be discontinued as soon as possible.
Lootboxes are unacceptable. I shouldn't have to pay for those alongside a $60 fuckin game just to get a complete experience.
I look forward to finding out what the FTC finds as well how they plan on correcting it. I don't think an outright ban is going to happen unfortunately, but hopefully its more than just a awareness PSA on lootboxes.
I wonder how much funding EA and Blizzard are about to put into lobbying.
Not to mention the ESRB is part of the ESA, a known lobbying firm of which companies like Capcom, Nintendo, and some others are associated with.
Good, that in app purchases label is less than worthless. Name a game that DOESNT have in app purchases these days! Plus any world in which the likes of Witcher 3 can be compared to banal affront 2 is a world I don’t wanna be a part of.
