Nintendo Game Content Guidelines for Online Video & Image Sharin..
Nintendo's relationship with online things will always be crap until they get new management and lawyers.
This is basically no different than any other company's policy for though? How is this dumb?
tl;dr
don't rehost official nintendo content. if you do you need to add something original to it.
lets plays and stuff are ok
don't sell things with official nintendo content in it.
fuck patreon
I mean people who upload LPs get all of the money.
This seems like a net gain to me.
You're not directly monetizing Nintendo's content on patreon are you?
Again, Patreon is a monetization of the channel, not the content.
I don't think Nintendo would have a leg to stand on even if they WANTED to go after Patreon.
nah i dont have one.
just thought it was curious that they specifically said this and then not include patreon as a choice to monetize a channel.

Rest in piss Gamexplain's 50 different video reuploads of specific parts of a Nintendo Direct that they shit out the moment they happen on stream
We encourage you to create videos that include your creative input and commentary. Videos and images that contain mere copies of Nintendo Game Content without creative input or commentary are not permitted
Those poor no-Commentary LP's.
I find it odd that GX hasn't gotten nailed by that already, though. I originally thought they had some sort of deal with Nintendo that allowed them to get away with it, but it wouldn't make sense for Nintendo to send traffic to a different channel.
I actually want them to stop it because they did nothing but flood my inbox which was one factor that made me unsub from them. They also just outright reupload videos that Nintendo uploads.
I think they just don't want people uploading cutscenes
