This is a pretty terrible idea as the EU cannot agree on anything.
Yeah, I'm usually all for the EU to become even cooperative and be able to exert more power, but this won't work out. As it currently stands, the EU is still at a state where there's a ton of disagreements
between members, not to mention that I personally that the EU Army should be up-and-running before the EU gains a collective seat in the UN.
The EU needs a lot of reforming before this becomes a good idea. Also this suggestion feeds into various "Germany rules the EU" conspiracy theories, they really needed to think about it more before opening their mouths.
