We could not simply do a poll of men, who might not honestly answer questions about their deepest insecurities. Instead we relied on Google Trends, which measures the popularity of Google search terms. As Seth Stephens-Davidowitz has argued, people are often at their least guarded when they seek answers from the Internet. Researchers have already used Google search patterns to estimate levels of racial prejudice in different parts of the country. We sought to do the same with fragile masculinity. We began by selecting a set of search topics that we believed might be especially common among men concerned about living up to the ideals of manhood: “erectile dysfunction,” “hair loss,” “how to get girls,” “penis enlargement,” “penis size,” “steroids,” “testosterone” and “Viagra.” We found that support for Trump in the 2016 election was higher in areas that had more searches for topics such as “erectile dysfunction.” Moreover, this relationship persisted after accounting for demographic attributes in media markets, such as education levels and racial composition, as well as searches for topics unrelated to fragile masculinity, such as “breast augmentation” and “menopause.”
I love the age we live in
You know what, even if nothing comes from all this, it feels good to think actual justice is being done today.
Not sure how secret such obviously projected insecurities can be.
Like I said when he started running He's the image a shit ton of americans will look up to. His bluster, and bullshit is popular with a lot of people because they don't know how else to function than to bullshit and bluster there way through their problems. The next 20 years of american history are going to be the most "interesting" years of history.
I remember when someone said that Donald Trump was a weak man's idea of a strong one and I never heard words more true.
You mean to say the people who use 'soy boy' as an insult and take "male enhancement" supplements are insecure about their manhood? Wild.
Wait... You mean all those "toughies" driving around their big ol' lifted choo choo trucks, all up in your face about how your opinion is wrong, need a gun to feel safe, are insecure!?
Don't forget are obsessed with the idea of being cheated on.
It's like that episode of south park where the tea party starts a revolution because they're insecure about their penis size
with hands as tiny as these who needs insecurity.
today has been a really good day to be on polidicks
Apparently there is a whole fuck ton of men that are secretly insecure about their manhood. Toxic Masculinity was a mistake.
i have a 12 inch dick so i guess that explains why im so critical of trump
The Chad Sorcerer vs the Virgin Alt-Righter
his whole generation was toxic masculinity.
news like this are making me believe my psychotic beliefs again where i thought donald trump had a really small dick and he pretended it was a pseudovag like mine
He yells the loudest, says that he's the best a lot, and he dismisses arguments or things that run contrary to his statements or opinions and "proves" that he's right by simply yelling over his opinions and yelling "you're wrong, i'm right, you mad bro" which makes him the exemplary role model for people with an incredibly shallow view of strength. There are an absolutely enormous number of people who think that winning an argument simply means insisting that the other guy is wrong as loudly as possible while simultaneously accusing them of being stupid, flustered, in denial, or desperate, and things like evidence or reasoned debate are for chumps. It's no wonder those people look at him as an idol.
finally, someone who says what we're all thinking
Oh my god, what if Tudd was against Trump all this time???? we've been fucking had, mates, it's all over
I don't know if I buy this. I'm very insecure about my manhood and I don't like Trump at all.
This is why we conduct studies using large sample sizes.
I’m gonna have to call bullshit on this whole article. I’m insecure as fuck and I hate the man’s guts.
Pretty sure this was patently obvious since the cranially-impaired chimp first announced he was running. Also: Welcome to the internet age. Where the first and only goal is to piss your opponent off, anything else up and including to your own well-being be damned. We are a society solely of spite now.
What hood?
