For anyone affected only by the bonemerge fuckery on the RS2 models and similar, go to 5:30
Well, both things shown in the video are kind of important. If you fail to avoid either of the issues, you aren't getting any of those sweet bonemerge shadows.
Can anyone give a link to those models?
I am still working on them and they're still W.I.P.
Although I'll most likely release the North Koreans pretty soon. The RS2 models on the other hand... eeeeeh, probably not so soon.
I don't need them to pose them or to redistribute them, I wanna see what's up, why they cause the problem(s) from the video. Private link is fine, my email is robotboy655@facepunchstudios.com.
Since you are making them yourself, it is possible that you can do something to stop the issue from happening on your models.
If you know any other publicly available models that have the same problems, please do share.
WW2 Mega model pack releases thread
Bonemergable stuff from this has the same issue, as well as similar derivative packs
Can you name which model paths exactly, and which files of those do they come from?
I'm talking all of the bonemerge stuff. If you want I could rattle off the model names, but I don't entirely know what you mean when you ask for model paths
Namely the physics rigs and head models off the top of my head

So I downloaded all of those files from the OP you linked, used models/madivan18/ww2/usa/usaa/usaa_m42_jenks.mdl and models/madivan18/ww2/usa/usaa/m42jacket.mdl with the bodygroups on the ragdoll disabled. I still get missing textures and there are no problems. Can you send me a dupe of a combo that causes the problem? on gm_construct? (using the default duplicator preferably)
If you cant make it happen on gm_construct, give me a link or a name of the map and a position to go to. ( getpos in console )
(You can copy the model paths by right clicking on a spawn icon and selecting COPY TO CLIPBOARD)
Okay this is downright bizarre. I load up the game to get some examples and now everything looks like it fixed itself. I'm looking at a bunch of models from the WW2 pack plus the vietnam fellas and crysis koreans OP made and everything's working like it should.
What's even weirder is I loaded an older save which still had the issue, but when I duplicated the the models over to a freshly reloaded session the issue was gone. I've been fiddling around for about half an hour now and haven't been able to replicate the shadow problem
gm_black_v3 (Though I've heard it happens on other versions), anywhere other than the spot of ambient light at the spawn position like in the video
That could possibly mean it has something to do with map lighting, since the fix involves spawning things in a zone of hammer light
You learn something new every day :v
Does happen every time you load that save? Can you send it my way? (email above) I'll obviously need the models and the map the save is on if it is not on the gm_black map with the models you linked before.
